Whack Job Arthur Deluca throwing up in public again!
What a twisted individual.
We are happy to give the public the truth this Tuesday at the City Council when we will call out Arthur Deluca and Harvey Alberg's despicable behavior on Patch for exactly what it is: retaliation against those who removed the corrupt TV3 board from Medford life.

TO: Issuing Authority Michael J. McGlynn
FROM: Joe Viglione, Public Access Host
RE: Medford City Council speech by JV for 1-12-13
Posted here in advance
NOTE TO THE PATCH EDITORS,
A FORMER BOARD MEMBER OF TV3 MADE A FALSE STATEMENT ABOUT MY HARD WORK ON BEHALF OF ALL MEDFORD RESIDENTS. HERE IS MY RESPONSE
The
Issuing Authority failed to appropriately discuss with the community
the taxpayer funded audit of the public access station in 2008 as well
as the retired Judge Jackson-Thompson recommendations after two
evaluation hearings. It is Issuing Authority McGlynn's obligation to
do as he promised. McGlynn had a press conference and used the
Jackson-Thompson hiring as a publicity stunt for himself, ignoring the
real reason for the evaluation: City Solicitor Mark E. Rumley's report
after a city-wide vote was scheduled for January 19, 2008 to build a new
board of directors for access tv, and after that promise from city hall
was counteracted, despite Mark Rumley being advised that that was
exactly what the TV3 board intended to do. This is factual information regarding past events.
To his credit, Solicitor Rumley wrote an amazing report. He also
noted to this writer that he realized I was working on behalf of the
community. What I want to bring to the attention of the Issuing
Authority, McGlynn, is an extremely inflammatory and outrageous comment
on PATCH from a member of the board of TV3"P.S. Why didn't the crusading journalist who claims to be fighting
for your rights not to be censored, why wasn't he willing to help others
get on the channel? Wasn't he censoring you by not doing all he could
to get you on it when it was within his power to do so?
"

Patch
already sent out a memo not to bring the "war" to Patch, so in a civil
fashion I will point out how incorrect the statement above is in a respectful way:
1)TV
3 was contractually obligated to facilitate access. That means it was
the job of board members - if staff was not available - to teach
computers, to loan out equipment, to provide for the services cable
subscribers pay the station, or the station is in violation of its
agreement. This happens all the time at real access stations - board members show up when there is no staff and professional, educated board members facilitate programming.
2)This
writer, Joe Viglione, is a volunteer, award-winning access producer who
is, indeed, a frequent speaker at City Council meetings where I have
extended invitations to the public and to politicians to be on my weekly tv show since we were - and this is as respectful as one can politely put it - cheated out of what we pay for by a station that didn't care about the citizens.
On
my program is a list of guests proving my point: City Councilor Paul A.
Camuso, City Councilor Robert Penta, Council candidate Jeanne Martin,
candidate Jimmy Morse, invitations out to Mark Crowley, Breanna
Lungo-Koehn, Michael Marks, Rick Caraviello and others, and Medford
guests ranging from 8 or more individuals no longer residing in Medford
to Nick T. of Garfield Ave., Kitty Connection (brought to me via Jimmy
Morse), Medford musicians, photographer Patty Saunders, Bestsellers
Cafe, Cafe Buccini, etc. etc. etc. I've forgotten more residents and
politicians and artists and authors from Medford than the former access station ever broadcast.
For the above referenced lie to be posted about a hard-working producer goes to the content of the character of the individual who posted it.
Now,
Project Open Voice is not access TV, I had to fight to get on the Video
On Demand, promised us but not delivered to us until I went to the
Federal Communications Commission (as well as a colleague of mine who
was actually at the FCC) and I got results most residents can't get;
can't jump through the hoops one has to jump through when City Hall is
intent on taking our money and censoring us.
People were invited to be on Channel 1 with me. I believe in sharing.
So,
Issuing Authority, when former Cable TV Commissioner Bob Skerry tells
John Byers on election day, November 5, purportedly that he believes I'm
the best person to run access in the city of Medford. And since the
proof of the pudding is in the eating - the evidence above and more -
documented evidence that the community is welcome on my show and has
appeared on my program - John Byers talking to Larry Luccino and other
sports notables, Rob Gronkowski of the Patriots on Channel 1 with me,
when the proof is different from the "spin" put out there by those who -
despite having access to the monies - were found by Mark Rumley, by
Judge Jackson-Thompson, by the auditors and by the community to be
incapable of providing access TV, when the proof tells a different story, all they can do is go on the attack.
Project
Open Voice is NOT public access. The "Exploding Urban Myths #2" is
incorrect. MadeinMedford.com is a YouTube kind of site. In order to
satisfy the FCC in the purchase of the NBC broadcast network, Comcast
had to create Project Open Voice for five communities in America. Medford was the sixth afterthought. There were problems allegedly with Medford that I won't get into here, so Comcast made Medford the "test site."
A
"test site" is not what cable TV subscribers deserve. The writer of
the "myth" piece, Arthur Deluca, talks about fairness for the TV3 board,
yet Somerville and Malden and Winchester get a product that Deluca
wants to deny Medford. Why should we pay more money and get less? A "test site."
So we've exploded some fictional postings by the former board member, and let's reiterate:
1)The residents have always had me to count on as their access tv friend
Chris
Donovan knows it, John Byers knows it, Joanne Codi knows it and others
know it. They have approached me and they had their guests on the air.
The door has always been open and Patch should be very aware that the
post saying a volunteer should do the work that was the TV3 board's job -
a job that I succeeded at as a volunteer but that they failed at as
people contractually obligated to do so - is a post designed to inflict
emotional distress and an attempt to erase a man's hard work and honest
efforts on behalf of cble TV
2)Project Open Voice could shut down as early as next year. It is a three year test. The writer of that blog post being formerly on a board of directors must certainly know this.
If
the former board of MCC wants to litigate against City Hall for giving a
new entity a fresh start, let them. A good lawyer would probably say
that lots of information would come forward in the discovery process to
prove positions the citizens have in regards to access TV. In other
words, I am politely and respectfully saying the city should welcome a
suit from MCC. Should welcome it. Then the information the public paid for will become public record.
