Mail-in Ballots

If you requested a mail-in ballot and have not received it as of October 20, please contact us at voters@medford-ma.gov or 781-393-2491. The Medford Registrars of Voters Office received ballots from the Secretary of State’s Office on October 3, and mailing began as of October 5 to any resident who has requested to vote by mail. To expedite mailing, the Medford Registrars of Voters Office has worked with the local USPS Postmaster to process and deliver mail to Medford residents without these requests needing to be sorted through the Boston USPS branch. By doing so, we hope to decrease delivery times, however please allow 10-14 days to receive your mail-in ballot. If you have not received your ballot as of October 20, please contact us. You can track your ballot at www.sec.state.ma.us.

Ballots can be returned by mail, by delivering them to the mail drop-box at the side entrance of City Hall, or in the drop box at the welcome desk inside of City Hall.

COVID-19 Requirements to be in Place

During early voting, voters must adhere to all Covid-19 guidelines as set by the State and/or the City’s Board of Health. Regulations include:

  • All voters, observers, and staff must wear face coverings. Face coverings must be worn over the nose and mouth.
  • Social distancing guidelines will be enforced while voters wait in line both inside and outside of the polling place, as well as at voting booths.
  • Election staff will disinfect each voting booth and pen after every use.
  • Election staff will be seated behind plexiglass barriers.

If you have questions, you can contact the Registrars of Voters at voters@medford-ma.gov or 781-393-2491.
