Public know this: The Hypocrisy of Lieutenant Joseph W. Casey is typical Rumleyism, do as we say, not as we do.
Casey is embarrassed to be in the L'Italien Report, but he doesn't want Adam Knight embarrassed by Adam Knight's bad actions and poor choices? W.T.F.?
Such a fxxxxng hypocrite - for a public records officer - and who gets damaged? THE PUBLIC!
JOSEPH W. CASEY, CONDUCT UNBECOMING IN L'ITALIEN REPORT, OBTAINED VIA PUBLIC RECORDS REQUEST, DEFENDING ADAM KNIGHT, CONDUCT UNBECOMING IN PENDING PUBLIC RECORDS REQUEST, IS A CONFLICT OF INTEREST FOR THE BRADY-LISTED POLICE OFFICER.
IT'S LIKE MARK RUMLEY INVESTIGATING THE BOARD OF TV3 THAT RUMLEY SAT ON! IT DAMAGES THE PUBLIC, IRREPARABLE HARM BY THESE PUBLIC 'SERVANTS' WITH UNCLEAN HANDS WHO DON'T WANT TO BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE IN PUBLIC RECORDS REQUESTS!
I submit that in the above referenced SPR22/1566, Mr. Casey has again failed to meet the burden.
This current submission by the Medford Police and Lt. Casey, Records Officer, makes less sense than the previous 8 page submission which failed to meet the burden and was denied.
My personal opinion is that Mr. Casey is stalling
for time, at the taxpayers' expense, as his July 7th submission is the most bizarre defense this writer has ever seen in response to a public records request. Grand Jury, William Bennet? Chuck Stuart, private person vs.
public figure City Councilor Adam Knight? This writer finds Casey's submission illogical.
Rebecca S. Murray, Supervisor of Records writes: "The public records law strongly favors disclosure by creating a presumption
that all governmental records are public records." (G.L. c. 66, §10A; see also 950 C.M.R. 32.08 (1).)
This writer obtained the L'Italien Report from your office despite the protests of Medford City Hall (and, ostensibly, the Medford Police
Department,) and that sunlight benefited the citizens of Medford. The cases, the L'Italien Report and the public figure Adam Knight
smashing a bank door photographs/videos(SPR22/1566,) are identical in that they are public figures behaving badly.
There is no "personnel" or "privacy" right here, and Casey's new claim issued on July 7 2022 that an innocent private person (William Bennett) with a grand jury tape unavailable compared to a public figure who went on the record in the weekly paper defending himself are two very different situations.
Knight was allowed to give one side to the press and it was self-serving; the public is in the dark because the public figure,
councilor Knight, used his powerful position to give a false definition of what truly happened. This was because he was running for
city council. He was elected and the public did not have the proper information, undisclosed by the Medford police
It also shows Casey - by changing his excuses from "impeding" law enforcement to now a "privacy issue" with no law enforcement to
impede, is coming up with excuse after bad excuse simply to move the goal posts back. It is the antithesis of the Public Records law which the Medford Police Department does to DENY the public they took an oath to protect and serve. It is disgraceful - and Casey's actions are all the more reason that he needs to hand these public documents over for inspection by the public which is paying for the investigation and now, Casey's attempts to hide that information.
The public / taxpayers paying a man, conduct-unbecoming Casey, who wants to deny legitimate documents to the public paying him.
I also believe Casey is conflicted and possibly retaliating because my receipt of the L'Italien Report is in regards to Lt. Casey, the records officer, behaving badly, and the Councilor Knight photographs are in regards to Knight behaving badly.
They are both public figures. Why does Knight, in Casey's opinion, have more of a right to privacy than conflicted Casey?
In any court of law Casey's Brady-listing for conduct unbecoming would tarnish him and possibly void his testimony. His failure to be honorable should also factor in here. Casey is simply not being honorable with the public he is required to serve and it is not the first time.
The question is why the Medford Police Department has decided to utilize Lieutenant Joe Casey, found in that L'Italien Report having committed "conduct unbecoming," and ending up on the D.A.'s dishonorable blacklist (the Brady/Giglio list.) I believe any citizen requesting public records is at a disadvantage since Casey himself appeared in an unflattering light in public records that the city did NOT
want to disclose, the taxpayer-funded L'Italien Report.
