What kind of parent would let their kid near the dangerous George Scarpelli* with what is now known about the fiasco, whether or not the verdict goes Scarpelli's way.
*allegations of threatening to punch in the nose young freshmen
*allegation that innocent Galileo Mondol was locked away in a cell
*allegations of 50 instances of hazing
*allegations that chaperones were drinking
That George Scarpelli is so silent on so many allegations speaks volumes, doesn't it?
The sheer breadth of the wrongful conduct as alleged is so overwhelming that any sane individual would step down from a body like a city council and/or school committee.
Scarpelli's selfish motives in staying on the council, running for reelection, and not being upfront with the residents after his case was on the front page of the Boston Globe twice in two years, takes a heartless, soulless creep who cares more about his pocketbook and his job than the safety of Medford and Somerville residents.
Scarpelli needs to resign.
