I've introduced many people to the world of Access television by way of being guests on Visual Radio.
There's an active president of a station who first was introduced to Access on my Medford TV show circa 1999 or 2000. As this is a sad moment I won't discuss names of the living but, thankfully, she's alive and well, as are some of our other colleagues.
Richie Sarno was on my program and later became a board member of BCAT Burlington. He passed away April 2, 2021
OBITUARY OF RICHARD D SARNO
Richard D. “Richie” Sarno, talented producer at Burlington Cable Access Television, passed away at the Winchester Hospital on Thursday morning, April 2, 2020. He was 65 years old.
Richie was born in Cambridge. He was raised and educated in Cambridge. He was the son of the late Albert and Marjorie Sarno. Richie was a graduate of New England School of Art & Design located in Boston. Richie went on to have a career as an Arts Director in the Graphic Design Industry in the magazine publication industry. https://sullivanfuneralhome.net/tribute/details/2848/Richard-Sarno/obituary.html
Now Kimberley Jaeger, introduced to Access TV at Medford's TV3, passed away in Jamaica October 11, 2021. A bizarre set of circumstances, a Centipede bite that purportedly was not treated properly caused an infection in Jamaica.
Many producers and members learned about access TV by either appearing on Visual Radio or by working on the program.
RIP Richie and Kimberley
