Prior to the arrest of the TV 3 webmaster on September 4th, City Councilor Paul A. Camuso was all for silencing any discussion of the unavailable access television station for 90 days which, oh so coincidentally, would have brought it up to almost exactly November 5, the date of the election.

How a councilor who believes in his own First Amendment right can stomp on and squelch the Free Speech of his constituents is remarkable. But would Camuso have been so quick to invoke Rule 21 to silence Free Speech at "the people's forum" had he known the political fallout when his good friend was charged with making some kind of alleged "false bomb threat" ?????

Midnight on September 22 former mayoral candidate John Byers said about the situation ""The parties are not moving on them quick enough to end this farce."
The parties he is talking about are City Hall and the Medford Police Department, but Byers is using a bit more decorum than the 501c3 non-profit he - Byers - is voicing that opinion about.
Tonight at the City Council there is a motion to revoke Rule 21. The revocation of Rule 21 will allow citizens to point out that Mike McGlynn is enjoying unprecedented lack of criticism regarding his antiquated policies and stale form of government. The McGlynn Administration is a "who's who" of insiders, cronies and obedient serfs.
Indeed, on October 19, 2013 when Melanie Safka comes to the Haines Square Fall Festival McGlynn will probably ask her to duet with him on a rendition of "Serfing USA" - and she will probably - gracefully - bow out.
What is "Serf-ing?"
1. A member of the lowest feudal class, attached to the land owned by a lord and required to perform labor in return for certain legal or customary rights.
Tonight I will give my best Jim Morrison "WAKE UP" speech. It always works for me in concert. If people are chattering during a ballad and quick (and very loud) "WAKE UP" (courtesy of the Doors, I always give a little attribution where credit is due!) gets lots of smile and applause...and they actually listen to the rest of the song.
Sleepers Awake, sayeth Bach; "WAKE UP" yells Jim Morrison from the other side. Voters are being denied their civil rights. City Hall has tried a number of stunts to keep my voice from being heard, even trespassing with anonymous entities on PATCH to try to keep readers distracted from the facts until after November 5th.
We have just begun to fight! Vote on November 5th. Vote.
