Medford parents angry over possible loss of McGlynn principal to non-renewal of contract

John Petrella, most recently a candidate for mayor, told the committee the assembled group understands that the body cannot, by law, discuss personnel issues.

“We’re here for Diane (Guarino),” Petrella told the committee, claiming the audience just wanted to show support for the principal who has worked in the Medford district for 43 years.

Principal at the John J. McGlynn Elementary School for the last 10 years, Guarino had no comment about her contract other than to say she was very upset. She did say she was appreciative of the support shown by the community.
