Dear Attorney Lori Sullivan:

Please add this to Pt 2 of my correspondence sent on 12/16/22.

In Lt. Casey's 12/15/22 correspondence, which I believe was tardy,
he CC:'s Police Chief Jack Buckley

a)If there is no domestic violence at the fire station or police department, why
would a public records' officer need to contact the chief himself?

b)Medford is currently rife with violence, and I believe that part of the problem
is the city's tendency towards cover-ups when the records law fosters transparency.

Prior to Mayor Lungo-Koehn getting elected there was a gun magazine found at the high school
The current mayor utilized that incident, in part, to get herself elected.  Yet the violence has
escalated and the police department, notorious for fighting records requests, is equally
notorious for shoveling bad news under the rug.

I was threatened with death via phone, and on Nov 8 2019, a cement slab was thrown through
my bedroom window at 446 Charles st. Malden (50 yards or so over the city line,
Charles St goes through Medford into Malden) which was designed to kill me.
The Malden Police Dept. has a report and the evidence.

This was due to the L'Italien Report, when I prevailed in a public records request
about malfeasance in the Medford Police Dept.  No surprise. What saved my life
is that as manager of the AirBNB, a tenant was moving out to go to New York
at 5:20 am that morning, exactly when the slab crashed through my bedroom window
which could have killed one of my cats or me.

The MPD plays hardball when it doesn't get its way.

They simply do not want ALL the information out, to the detriment of the taxpayers
and citizens funding them.

See these three examples - which I provide as evidence for the need for more transparency:

Exhibit 1  Triple Stabbing on or about Dec 12
Deanna Sharpe has been identified as the woman who was stabbed as
she tried to stop an attack in her Medford neighborhood Monday night.

Sharpe intervened after seeing Jace Pietro Cherchi, 22, allegedly assaulting his mother and sister outside a home on Doane Road. Both family members were stabbed and suffered non-life-threatening injuries, Medford police said.

Exhibit 2   Two knives in stabbing on or about Dec 19, 2022 a week later at high school
Cell phone video caught the fight in the school bathroom, 7 News reported. The victim’s mother said this began on Friday when the suspect confronted her son in the bathroom. The fight picked up on Monday with more students and a second knife involved, she claimed.

Exhibit 3
December 3, 2021 there was another stabbing at the high school  Why does it take Police Chief Buckley a year
before there's a police presence when students were raped by convicted staffer Jenna Tarabelsi and stabbed
by students. Rapes and stabbings at the high school and the MPD doesn't want to be transparent with pertinent
public records like police reports?  Seriously?

Medford Students Walk Out of High School, Protest Violence After 2 Incidents This Week

Both violent incidents this week were recorded on cell phones and circulated on social media.

The second issue is Governor Maura Healey on the Jim Braude show claiming that she
is all for public records, a statement I disagree with as in another records request the
Records Division knows I've been attempting to get documents from Healey's A.G. office
regarding Medford Community Cablevision, Inc., for more than a decade.

Again, seriously

Gov.-elect Healey says she won’t claim public records exemption, supports more transparency for Legislature, judiciary  https://www.bostonglobe.com/2022/12/20/metro/gov-elect-healey-says-she-wont-claim-public-records-exemption-supports-more-transparency-legislature-judiciary/

If there was a domestic violence case at the MPD or the Medford Fire Department, these current
acts of violence that happened on the watch of the Medford Police are all the more reason that the
frightened and interested public has an urgent right to know.

I respectfully request the police reports, public records, that I have requested, especially if a cover-up
allegedly is in the works.

Thank You

Joe Viglione
