District attorney: Every case involving John Donnelly, officer accused in Charlottesville race riot, under review

District Attorney Marian Ryan said the office "is now thoroughly reviewing any pending or closed cases in which Officer Donnelly was involved."

“We are acutely aware of the way in which these allegations tear at the fabric of trust which exists between communities and the police departments which serve them,” Ryan said in a statement.

The Middlesex County district attorney said Friday her office will review every case involving a Woburn police officer accused of inappropriate conduct in connection with a 2017 white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.  https://www.wcvb.com/article/woburn-massachusetts-police-officer-charlottesville-da-reviewing-cases/41625830

On Thursday, Woburn police Chief Robert F. Rufo Jr. said Officer John Donnelly was placed on leave after the department learned he allegedly participated in and was active in the planning of the Unite the Right rally.

Participants included members of white nationalist and neo-Nazi groups and the Ku Klux Klan, some of whom carried weapons and chanted racist and antisemitic slogans.
