Medford Releases Schedule of Pride Month 2024 Events

Events will be held throughout the City during the months of May and June to celebrate Pride

 

(MEDFORD) — The City has released a schedule of events to celebrate and honor Pride Month this June, announced Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn. This year’s slate of events has expanded to 11 in its third year and was organized in partnership with the Medford Pride Committee and other community partners.

 

"Building upon the past two years of successful celebrations, we’ve put together a long list of fun events for all to enjoy this Pride Month,” said Mayor Lungo-Koehn. “Thank you to our Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Frances Nwajei and the Medford Pride Committee for all the time and work that has been put into planning this year’s event schedule.”

 

“Our goal is to make Medford’s Pride Month one of the best celebrations around, to honor our LGBTQ+ friends, family, and neighbors,” said Frances Nwajei, Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. “In partnership with the Pride Committee, we’ve put together a wide range of events that pays tribute to our dynamic and diverse community.”

 

The following list of events was compiled and organized by the Medford Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, Medford Pride Committee, and other partners, including the Office of Prevention and Outreach, EventThem, Boston Proud Foundation, Medford Interfaith Community, Medford Middle School and High School GSA clubs, Reimagym, Medford Brewing Company, gentle Giant Rowing Club, Mystic River Watershed Association, Middle School and High School Chameleon Club, and the Charlotte and William Bloomberg Public Library.

 

  • May 23: (3pm-5pm) Pizza & Paint @ Medford High School courtyard
  • May 31: (4pm-7:30pm) Flag Raising Ceremony and Festival @ City Hall
  • June 12: (7pm-8pm) Pride Paper Flower Crown Craft @ Medford Public Library
  • June 13: (7pm-9pm) LGBTQ+ Book Club Group, UNTAMED by Glennon Doyle @ Medford Public Library
  • June 18: (7pm-8:30pm) Author visit with Sarah Boyer "Coming Out, Becoming Ourselves” @ Medford Public Library
  • June 20: (7pm-8pm) An Evening with Mercury Stardust on Zoom @ Medford Public Library
  • June 21: (3:30pm-4:30pm) Ants on a Log Pride Concert (ages 4+) @ Medford Public Library
  • June 22: (2pm-3pm) Kinsey Scales Pride Concert @ Medford Public Library
  • June 29: (11am-3pm) Mystic River Pride Flotilla hosted by Gentle Giant Rowing Club & Mystic River Watershed Association @ MacDonald Park
  • June 29: (6pm-8pm) Skate, Mingle & Dance Disco Party @ LoConte Rink
  • July 3: (Time TBD) Pride Month After-party hosted by Medford Brewing Company & Reimagym @ Medford Brewing Company
