The report offers recommendations for improving security at the McGlynn Middle School.
Foley Hoag law firm has released the results of its independent investigation into an incident last winter at the McGlynn Middle School, during which a loaded gun magazine was discovered in the school, but went unreported to police.
Dated July 2018, the report was released to the School Committee and for public viewing on Sept. 5. It concludes that former McGlynn Middle School principal Jake Edwards and former Superintendent of Schools Roy Belson did not respond adequately to the gun magazine discovery and its subsequent disappearance. It also offers several recommendations for improving the security of the McGlynn Middle School.*
*Now the rumor is that the magazine belonged to either a rookie or a cop who was at the school for some sort of conference and dropped it. Irresponsible.

And stop the nepotism. If anyone named McGlynn or formerly named McGlynn related to the former mayor works there let them go seek other employment without daddy's interference.
It isn't the damn family business, it's the Medford school system. And don't wait for pal Mea to step in, Mea Mustone is a lot like Ed Markey was when first elected. Marky once stood for something with his "They can tell me where to sit, but not where to stand." Now Markey is told to roll over, beg, give his paw, and Mea Mustone lockstep with him. Shameful.
