Chelsea School Committee member accused of rape, enticement of a student

Charges include enticement, rape

Henry Wilson, who joined the committee in 2019 and previously served on Chelsea's Planning Board and Zoning Board, was arraigned on the charges Tuesday.

 

Wilson was asked to speak with Chelsea Police Department detectives on Monday and a police report indicates he did so willingly that afternoon. He was arrested at the conclusion of the interview.

Court documents indicate that Wilson faces charges including enticement of a child and rape of a child between the ages of 12 and 16. Some of the documents related to the case were impounded by the court and are therefore not available to review.

In a letter sent to families, Superintendent Dr. Almi Abeyta said district officials are cooperating with the investigation.

Wilson is prohibited from visiting any Chelsea school campus or contacting any students.
