Construction giant Gilbane Building Co. is consolidating its New England leadership team under a newly appointed regional manager at the company’s Boston headquarters of 155 Federal St.
Ryan Hutchins, previously Gilbane’s senior Massachusetts executive, will now serve as the company’s senior vice president and regional manager for New England. He will now oversee all of Gilbane’s Massachusetts operations as well as its satellite offices in Providence, Glastonbury, Conn., and Bedford, N.H.
Gilbane said the move was prompted by a surge in Massachusetts-based business, as its local headcount has doubled to 160 in the past four years.
“There is tremendous history and tradition in our company, and I’ve watched it grow and develop very strong market positions around the country,” said William Gilbane Jr., Gilbane’s president and chief operating officer, in prepared remarks. “To see Boston — the center of New England — now become the center of the region is really a huge milestone for the company.”
