Finally, NESTOR SUSPENDED....He's a JOKE and took advantage of the city!

The move to order employees back to work was made on the heels of the suspension of Michael Nestor, the city’s Parks director. Nestor was told of his suspension without pay Jan. 4, in a letter from Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn and alerted he had until Jan. 11 to detail his work activities during the weeks of Oct. 25-29th; Nov. 1-5th and Nov. 8-12th.

The Teamsters has filed a grievance for unfair labor practice in response to Nestor’s suspension; the union contract with the city specifies that there be a just cause for disciplinary action. The request that he document his daily tasks is “not a common practice,” Liacos said.

In the cease and desist request sent to Nazarian Thursday, Liacos said: “These employees are subject to quarantine restrictions due to the COVID-19 virus, and despite this, you attempted to interrogate them on their front steps over these absurd accusations.” He classified the maneuver as “bizarre” and “an attempt to shake up and threaten the employees with the threat of termination.”
