Pioneering Minority People, be they Homosexual, Jewish, Black, Disabled deserve GOOD ROLE MODELS like Harvey Milk, Nichelle Nichols, Joseph Carey Merrick (a.k.a. the Elephant Man,) ...people who fought the good fight.
So when Sidney Poitier passes on, to have a Diversity Director go to the lowest common denominator and espouse "slapping the white man," you should be filled with disgust and demand the authorities in Medford consider what a heartless, pathetic creature Neil Osborne is, and how he sets civil rights in Medford back decades.
People are afraid of Neil Osborne. He is a bully, and he has a problem with WHITE PEOPLE.
That is so wrong. We are all one people under God's loving light.
For Neil to abuse his position is Exhibit A in why Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn's failed "transparency," "integrity" and "community" is anything but.
Every fraudulent self-serving step that Osborne takes is a slap; a slap against the citizens of Medford, Massachusetts.
This is your community, Medford. Demand the removal, and punishment, of Neil Osborne.
He has betrayed your trust and violated his oath.
In a moving moment during Nichols' farewell panel on Sunday, NASA Astronaut Appearance Specialist Denise Young – who said she too was inspired to pursue a career at the agency due to the inspiration provided by Nichols' Star Trek role – bestowed the actress with the space agency's prestigious NASA Exceptional Public Achievement Medal for her four decades of activism in diversifying NASA's ranks. During the panel, Nichols rose from her wheelchair to accept the award as the audience gave her a standing ovation.
"A life well-lived is reward enough, every day, and my mother's certainly had a life well lived in many respects," her son Johnson told the audience. "This is an exceptional recognition, and I'm of course very proud of her for all that she's done, and the value and the meaning of her work. Not just as an actress, but very real and important work that she inspired and enabled people to understand."
