Our band was called STILL
1973
This is my put down and good-bye song to the guitarist ...first track on my first album

Back in 1973 I was in a trio with a fellow Jack on drums and another Jack on guitar. Two guitar and drum band, sometimes keyboard.
The fellow - guitar Jack - contacted me a couple of years ago to try to resurrect the past but…45 years or so later when I already am rocking out there at my convenience …well…Thank you but we're doing fine without you...
...the interesting thing is that “I’m A Star” was written about him …he would denigrate my songs, my lifestyle…God bless him but his negativity was difficult to navigate. He idolized Neil Young yelling out “I Love You” at a concert at the Music Hall back in the day…anyway, here it is in all its glory, the first track off of my first album on Flamingo/Carrere back in 1978. Enjoy.
I'm a star
'cause I play the guitar
off-key harmonica
...the music will glow...Count don't need no glitter show...
(Side note: He used to steal my riffs (many did...I am a creative kinda guy) ...and he used to chastise me for my wardrobe.)
I can steal my buddy's songs
he writes the songs that I like
the Kid knows a guy who could write a song
about a galaxy or a dyke....
My Galaxy 7 is a brilliant instrumental
and Madeline the dyke was a take-off on
The Kinks "Lola"
The Kinks "Lola"
My parting gift to him...calling 'em as I see 'em:
"I'm a rock and roll relic from the 1960s"
(The Kid was the guitarist...interesting that a co-host of mine from Medford on the TV show was also known as The Kid...)

that's me live onstage at the Rathskellar
The people from Paris psychedelicized the album...which is pretty awesome.
Flamingo Records distributed by Carrere
I was in good company! Saxon heavy metal, Phyllis Hyman disco and my punk rock/pop...what a mix!!!!
