New Proposed Lab Development on Mystic Valley Parkway to be Considered by Medford Community Development Board on May 16th

RISE Together has filed a zoning application for an eight-story life science development at 4054 Mystic Valley Parkway

MEDFORD – At its regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, May 16th, the Medford Community Development Board will consider the proposed lab development at 4054 Mystic Valley Parkway. RISE Together, a Boston-based minority-owned development and construction company, and the Matarazzo Family, are partnering to build an 8-story laboratory development at 4054 Mystic Valley Parkway. The project has submitted a site plan review application to the Office of Planning, Development and Sustainability and will be reviewed by the Community Development Board during their meeting on Monday, May 16th at 6:00 pm. The meeting will be held via Zoom and is open to the public. Community Development Board and Zoning Board of Appeals meetings can be accessed through the City of Medford event calendar at www.medford-ma.gov/city-events.

RISE Together’s proposed development would include approximately 257,000 square feet of bio-safety level 1 and 2 laboratory space and a below-ground parking garage for 422 cars. In addition, the building’s ground floor will include 3,000 square feet of dedicated retail space, a landscaped public plaza, dedicated indoor bike storage, and nearly 9,000 square feet of flexible community and lobby space.

RISE Together held an initial community meeting about the project on September 16, 2021. The project has also applied for zoning relief through Medford’s Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA). The ZBA is expected to hold a public hearing on the project in June.
