Street Sweeping Begins April 1st

Sweeping on all main roads returns April 1st, Monday – Friday.

“Big Sweep” on all secondary roads in Medford to take place over several weeks, beginning in late April.

 In accordance with the City’s regular yearly street sweeping schedule, street sweeping will begin on all main roads as of Thursday, April 1st. Street sweeping on main roads occurs Monday through Friday, between midnight and 7am. The full schedule is available at www.medfordma.org/street-sweeping. Street sweeping on main roads is conducted from April 1st to October 31st each year, weather permitting.

The City’s Spring “Big Sweep” on all secondary roads – both public and private – will be scheduled to begin in late April. A schedule will be released within the next few weeks and will also be posted at www.medfordma.org, and www.medfordma.org/street-sweeping as well as on the City’s Facebook page (fb.com/MedfordMAofficial).

To be notified of specific dates of street sweeping in your neighborhood, residents are reminded to check that you are signed up, with the correct street address, in the City’s Reverse 911 call and email system. You can log in or sign up at www.medfordma.org/alerts, email alerts@medford-ma.gov, or call Jackie Piques at 781-393-2529 to check your address.

 

Parking Information

  • There is NO PARKING on the designated street while sweeping is taking place on a scheduled street. Cars that remain parked on the streets designated for that day and time will be subject to enforcement, including ticketing and towing.
  • To appeal a ticket or to discuss any parking-related issue, please contact Park Medford at parkmedford.org or 781-874-0051.

If you have questions about the street sweeping schedule, please contact the Department of Public works at 781-393-2417. After 4:30 p.m. and on weekends, if you have a pressing issue, please call 781-393-2402.

 

Medford city services are available to all residents, regardless of economic situation, race, gender, immigration status, ability, benefit eligibility, or religious affiliation.
