Elected Officials + City Staff Furthering Commitment to Equity in Medford by Jackie Piques

Through the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness (MVP) grant, the Board of Health’s Office of Prevention and Outreach and the Office of Planning, Development, and Sustainability are hosting a professional development training series on “Setting the Conditions to Create People-Centered Partnerships to Address Inequity in Medford.” This professional development was provided to community-based organizations, elected officials, and city staff.

The trainings were presented by Maryann Broxton, ATD Fourth World Activist and Coordinator for their Multidimensional Aspects of Poverty (MAP) research. The trainings are intended to deepen our collective community knowledge and understanding of inequity and how to best address it in Medford. The trainings are developed for institutions willing to create space for meaningful and equal participation of individuals with lived experience in identifying solutions to complex problems.

We thank the following elected officials for their participation in this training and their continued commitment to addressing inequity in Medford.

Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn
City Councilors: Nicole Morell and Zac Bears
School Committee Members: Jenny Graham, Mea Mustone, and Paul Ruseau
MA State Representatives: Christine Barber and Sean Garballey

We also thank all of the City of Medford staff who attended across many departments and offices, including:

Building Department
Engineering Division
Forestry Division
