Dear Public Records Division:

Mr. Casey comparing a city councilor's misadventures - an elected official -
to a grand jury in the Carol Stuart case, is like comparing Charles Manson
to a shoplifter, in this writer's opinion.  It is clutching at straws.

1)All government records viewed as public records
2)the taxpayers and citizens right to public information
3)Adam Knight talking to the press, downplaying (lying) to his constituents,
saying it is no big deal, in conflict with Lt. Casey calling it a big deal

Lt Casey notes: The Medford Police Department filed a criminal complaint application with the Somerville District Court, the venue for the clerk magistrates/show cause hearing was changed to the Cambridge District Court and was held on September 24, 2021.  The case was held over for a period of 6 Months.

4)Casey acts as if Knight did nothing wrong.  In one of the two photos a confidential informant sent me
(See Exhibit A, attached) you can see the rage in Knight's eyes.  Two photos ARE in the public domain,
and the public wants more to fully understand what happened by this public figure who took an oath
of office.

The fact that the court appears to have had Knight on a probationary period speaks volumes.

The door is smashed. That's a fact.

Knight is a public figure. That's a fact.

Knight spoke to the public, spinning the story in a vague and dishonest way, the public not getting
the true story, all the more reason for the voters of Medford to see the photos

The police filed a complaint on Mr. Knight

Knight claims it was an "accident' yet allegedly fled the scene of the crime that Casey claims was not a crime
(anyone in the public without Knight's union and powerful attorneys would be charged and tried)

So Voters are at a disadvantage and the public records law is mocked.

5)Casey himself was part of the L'Italien Report and city hall cited privacy and personnel
issues, if I recall, and the Division again determined in my favor.

The recycling and the changing of horses mid-stream by Casey is disingenuous.
Privacy?  I submit again, a city councilor is a major public figure in a city,
and if there is no court case (which was Casey's original excuse,) the Medford Police
can't just come up with new ideas they didn't put in their original objection.

6)It is OUTRAGEOUS that Brady-listed Lt. Casey chooses William Bennett, a man
falsely accused, to Adam Knight, a man who admitted publicly that he was involved,
as the two cases have absolutely nothing in common.  Bennett was innocent and a
private figure, Knight admitted to the deed, and is a public figure.

I ALSO SUBMIT THAT MR. CASEY, COMPARING A PRIVATE CITIZEN TO
AN ELECTED OFFICIAL, IS SHIRKING HIS DUTY TO PROTECT AND SERVE,
AND MAY BE A VIOLATION OF HIS OATH.

CASEY'S WRITING LOOKS LIKE THE WORK OF A LAWYER, NOT A POLICE OFFICER:
Although the individual is a public official (City Councilor of the City of Medford) the individual should
“be free from the additional "notoriety and disgrace" that could attend publication
(in dramatic videotape format)” 408 Mass. at 601 (1990).

Oh my God.  Knight admitted to it, and the public official wants to betray his oath
and not let the public see what could be "noteriety and disgrace."

It is my position that the police NOT alerting the public to possible danger by
Mr. Knight, a hot-head who makes a spectacle of himself frequently at the
city council, is the police failing the citizens who pay them outrageous salaries.

Mr. Casey should be held responsible, though I firmly believe the information
Casey sent today - signed with his own name - was most likely (allegedly)
written by a member of the bar in an attempt to protect a
public official friend of his, but what do I know?

Adam Knight is not innocent William Bennet, and is a public figure,
and these documents are, INDEED, of GREAT public interest for
every single voter in the city of Medford

Respectfully,

Joe Viglione
