Part of the evidence is school committee member Paul Ruseau, presto change-oh, developing a new name after living as convicted felon Paul Comeau Jr.   Mr. Ruseau didn't need to go to court to change his name, the name crept up on him during his Fugue state.

The Buckley/Caraviello/Ruseau state can last for days, months or longer. 

Dissociative fugue usually involves unplanned travel or wandering around 100 Main Street with delusions of being Napolean the Twelfth, and is sometimes accompanied by the establishment of a new identity.   Just ask Comeau/Ruseau.
