Massachusetts Man Sentenced to 25 Years for Buying Explosives and Firearms with Intent to Murder Federal Judge, Former AG, and Ex-Wife's Husband

CONCORD – United States Attorney Scott W. Murray announced today that Edward McLarnon, 69, of Malden, Massachusetts, was sentenced to serve 25 years in federal prison for receiving firearms with intent to commit murder and other related charges.
After a six-day trial, McLarnon was convicted on January 30, 2018, of: (1) receiving an unregistered silencer; (2) receiving firearms with the intent to commit murder; (3) receiving explosive materials; and (4) receiving an explosive with the intent to harm persons or property.
Evidence presented at trial showed that in October 2015, defendant McLarnon made contact with a person he believed to be an arms dealer (who was actually an undercover FBI agent) for the purpose of buying illegal weapons.  After negotiating with the agent at a store in Chichester and paying a total of $700 cash, on November 6, 2015, the defendant took possession of a .22 caliber pistol with silencer, an AK-47 style semi-automatic rifle, and explosives, along with ammunition for the firearms.  He then was arrested at a rest stop in Seabrook, NH.  The evidence further showed that McLarnon intended to use the weapons to kill his ex-wife's husband, as well as a Boston federal judge and a former Massachusetts Attorney General.
In imposing the 25-year sentence, U.S. District Court Judge Steven J. McAuliffe said “But for some exceptional law enforcement work, you may have caused serious harm to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, the Federal Judiciary and Mr. Douglas."
“This lengthy sentence is an appropriate punishment for this defendant, whose conduct was truly frightening and dangerous,” said U.S. Attorney Murray.  “Because the defendant was frustrated with the legal system, he planned to engage in disturbing acts of violence.  We should all be grateful that our law enforcement partners were able to prevent this defendant from putting his violent plan into action. The substantial prison sentence imposed by the court should act as a deterrent to others who might plan to commit violent crimes”.
"Mr. McLarnon went to great lengths and concocted a frightening plan to kill his ex-wife's husband, a sitting federal judge, and a former Massachusetts Attorney General, as a way to express his displeasure with the judicial system.  Through the exceptional work and diligence of our Joint Terrorism Task Forces in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, we were able to uncover and disrupt his nefarious plot,” said  Harold H. Shaw, Special Agent in Charge, FBI Boston Division.  "Today's sentence ensures that he will no longer be in a position to endanger innocent lives for a very long time.”
This matter was investigated by the FBI, U.S. Secret Service, Homeland Security Investigations, Boston, and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.  The case was prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney John S. Davis and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Matthew T. Hunter.

Old Zed gets 25 Years for going after my girlfriend Martha and a Judge and his Ex Wife's Husband

OK, his rants were kind of nutty, but this one has shocked us!  Can't believe Zed would do something this dumb and...insane!

Malden man sentenced to 25 years for plotting to kill ex-wife’s husband, judge, former Mass. AG

A federal judge in New Hampshire sentenced a 69-year-old Malden man to 25 years in prison for plotting to kill his ex-wife’s husband, a judge, and a former Massachusetts attorney general, federal prosecutors said.
Edward McLarnon was sentenced Wednesday for receiving firearms with intent to commit and related charges, according to a statement from the US Attorney’s office in Concord, N.H.
McLarnon was convicted in late January of receiving an unregistered silencer, receiving firearms with the intent to commit murder, receiving explosive materials, and receiving an explosive with the intent to harm persons or property, federal prosecutors said.

Evidence showed that McLarnon contacted an arms dealer who was actually an undercover FBI agent in 2015. McLarnon paid $700 for the weapons and was taken into custody shortly afterward.

Prosecutors said the evidence further showed McLarnon intended to kill his ex-wife's husband, U.S. District Judge Dennis Saylor in Boston, and former Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley.

McLarnon will be sentenced on May 10.

RE: Access for the Masses

Dear Bob Penta,

I bring to your attention two new articles on access television - PACE - Public Access for Elders in California and Saco Maine's request for more access channels.
The story links are below.

You attended Mayor McGlynn's public access tribunal meetings, Stephanie Muccini-Burke was nowhere to be found.

You, Mr. Penta, showed real concern for access television, witnessed Reading TV's Saturday morning get togethers for senior citizens.

In Medford, City Solicitor Mark E. Rumley thwarted access with:

a)his skewed interpretation of the Medford Public Library's obligations, ignoring that computers are at the library, and that we wanted to edit access TV
on similar computers at the library. Even Rick Caraviello was on board with having an access TV satellite at the library. My idea was to utilize the
second floor of the Chevalier, thwarted by another ex TV3 board member, John Costas, who thinks he owns the Chevalier.

b)Rumley's ridiculous CORI check when Allison Goldsberry, Fred Laskey and Rev Chip Hines all wanted a CENTRAL LOCATION for access television

c)Rumley's outrageous conflict of interest, investigating a board of directors that he was an integral part of via his appointment by Mayor McGlynn

In Election You obtained larger crowds than Stephanie Muccini-Burke, in debates you were spot on and Mrs. Burke was totally out of her element.
Had your votes been properly counted by an honest city clerk you would be mayor today. We would have public access television.

Mrs. Burke and Mr. Rumley loathe the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. They loathe this messenger. They are liars and they are cheats.

They are terrified of people having free expression in the city of Medford, and the appointments are ludicrous

---Yvette Wilks, the most experienced member of the Muccini-Burke team wouldn't know about freedom of the press or free speech if it bit her.

---Jay Campbell is a shill, plain and simple, as unqualified as Mrs. Burke herself. This is what cable ratepayers are subjected to?

---Gabby Follett-Sumney - your garden variety wannabe, but admitted to know nothing about access television and less about the city of Medford.
Just the way Muccini-Burke likes it.

Matthew 15:14 comes in handy here. Jesus stated it in simple terms:
King James Bible
Let them alone: they be blind leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both shall fall into the ditch.

But who are you going to believe? The Lord and Savior or Stephanie Muccini-Burke. That's a rhetorical question.

Patrick Gordon's lip service says that he "has a vision."

I've forgotten more about access television than Patrick will ever learn.

The website - Medford Community Media - is cheesy. The public is not alerted to upcoming classes (except that I have promoted it; just as I've promoted
the cable advisory meetings) - and we know what Mrs. Burke wants: to use the access channel monies to pay for the government channel and high school channel,
which is not what the specific access funds are designated for.

When Jack Dempsey tapes the fire chief and police chief without lav microphones the citizens are cheated, there is hardly audio - and Frank A. Giliberti Jr and Leo A. Sacco Jr. appear as if in a silent movie. How disrespectful to a good man like the fire chief. For Leo A. Sacco Jr. - it's karma, plain and simple.

For doing a horrible job the McGlynn-connected Chamber of Commerce pulls this stunt:
Medford Chamber of Commerce names Jack Dempsey 2012 Citizen of the Year
http://www.wickedlocal.com/article/20120322/News/303229786

It's cronyism over freedom of the press and it is so very wrong.

If public access monies pay Mr. Dempsey's salary, who are his clients? Just asking a question.

PACE-TV (Public Access Cablevision by Elders) began in 1978 with a grant from the state of California and after the grant ended,
the non-profit was formed four years later. Over the years, they’ve produced hundreds of shows, mostly highlighting non-profit work
in the community, and have received awards for providing an outlet and voice for senior adults in the county.

read the story - senior citizens need to learn computers at access TV, but Rumley is drooling for their CORI check. Think about it.

Saco nears deal for new public access channels
By Abigail Worthing
Staff Writer
SACO – As Saco prepares to enter into contract negotiations with Charter Communications, the Saco Cable Committee is considering an expanstion of public access television.

On Monday, Oct. 1, the city council will vote to allow City Administrator Kevin Sutherland to enter into a new contract and franchise agreement with Spectrum, a subsidiary of Charter Communications – to update services. As the process moves forward, Saco can negotiate for more channels through the agreement, upgrading its public access television from one blended government and education channel (TATV on channel 3 for Saco residents) to three channels; one for government, one for education and one for public access.

During a Sept. 10 meeting to discuss a more robust public access program, two members of the Saco Cable Committee, IT Director Ryan Pinheiro and Marketing and Communications Director Emily Roy, gave an introductory presentation with Tony Vigue, a community television expert who has served as a consultant on the project. The presentation detailed the types of channels that Saco can consider, as well as detailed the cable ascertainment process. When it comes to public access television, there are three types of “PEG” channels; public, education and government. What’s currently offered in Saco is a blend of education and government as TATV, which shows content from both high school events and programs and streams city council and school board meetings. TATV is lead by teacher and general manager Jeff Christenbury, and Pinheiro oversees the streaming of municipal meetings. The committee has recommended expanding filming facilities in Saco. With the exception of council chambers, the only place to film is Thornton Academy.
