Building Permits can be submitted online via Citizen Serve; Purchasing Department to offer all bid processes online via BidNet.

Expanding online services will increase efficiency for constituents, save City departments time and resources.

This month, the City of Medford announced it is moving its purchasing and bid opportunities to an online platform to increase efficiency, create a more user-friendly interface, and update some of the City’s operating systems. Earlier this year, the City’s Building Department launched an online permitting platform that has streamlined the permitting process for applicants, decreases walk-in traffic and wait times, and creates greater efficiencies for both staff and customers.

As of Monday, July 27, the City’s online platform for bid opportunities is available at www.medfordma.org. The City of Medford joined BidNet’s Massachusetts Purchasing Group in July and will be utilizing the system to streamline their purchasing process including bid management, bid distribution, electronic bid submissions and vendor relations.

BidNet’s Massachusetts Purchasing Group connects participating agencies from across Massachusetts to a large vendor pool and streamlines the bid and vendor management process. BidNet’s Massachusetts purchasing group provides notifications to registered vendors of new relevant solicitations, as well as any addenda and award information from participating agencies from across Massachusetts. Vendors can register at www.bidnetdirect.com/massachusetts to access all open bids, related documents and files, additional addenda and award information.

In April 2020, the City’s Building Department launched an online permitting system through CitizenServe, offering all applicants for permits available in the Building Department to submit applications and documents online. To access the online system, visit www.medfordma.org/departments/building-department.

The City is also exploring ways to expand online processes, like submissions to the Board of Health, through CitizenServe.

“Efficiency, transparency, and enhancing City services has been one of my top priorities from my first day in office, and though some of our initial progress was delayed by the Covid-19 health crisis, I am so proud to say we are back on track and already gearing up for more service enhancements this year,” said Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn. “I am thankful for the hard work of City staff to make these upgrades, which will be particularly important in reducing the number of in-person visits to City offices as much as possible as we continue our work to slow the spread of Covid-19.”

The Police Appreciation Rally

Around midnight on July 4, 2020, the Medford Police responded to multiple calls from the Willis Ave Housing Development. When they arrived they were attacked by a crowd estimated to be about 200 adults. The officers asked for backup and eventually all sector cars arrived on the scene. The mob was shooting Roman Candles and throwing M-80s at the officers. The MPD called the State Police for help. During the next two hours, the police were hit with the above mentioned items. This unreported event was the final straw for the morale of the police force. Two days later, family and friends of the members of the force decided to hold an appreciation rally. It was held on July 15th at the front entrance at city hall.

Videos say more than words so we decided to let them do the speaking. The first video is 50 minutes long and opens with the beginning of the rally. The rally ends at the 22 minute mark. It opens and closes with Medford clergy praying for the police, praying for the city and asking God to bring peace to Medford with patriotic songs comprising the middle.

The second video is Black LIves Matter chanting "F--- the Police" on city hall steps about 45 minutes after the peaceful conclusion of the rally.

The third video is of the verbal incident between the Mobilize Medford leader and a member of a Medford Motorcycle Club which happens 27 minutes after the rally ended. The leader is yelling to the crowd and says "This f---ing flag....".

The member shouts back with " do you speak to your mother with that mouth.....she should slap you.....If you were my kid, I'd would kill you".

The leader shouts out "go ahead slap me...slap me.... I dare you slap me.... officer I want to file a complaint......" This incident can be viewed also in the first video at the 44 minute mark where the man who is filming says "that's nice language".

Medford Moving to New City Alerts System for Robo Calls, Emails, & Text Messages

by Jackie Piques
Residents, businesses encouraged to create accounts in the new system at www.medfordma.org/alerts
The City of Medford is transitioning to a new Alerts system, Everbridge, to offer ongoing alerts via telephone, email, or text message. Alerts will continue to be offered as a free service for all community members to stay updated about important information such as public safety issues, water main breaks, construction, and road closures.
As the City transitions to the new system, we are working to move all contact information manually. To prevent any data loss, however, we encourage residents and businesses to create new accounts in one of the following ways:
  1. If you’re already enrolled in the City Alerts system via email, you should have received a registration link from Evebridge (please remember to check your Spam folder). The link will take you directly to create a new account.
  2. Visit www.medfordma.org/alerts to create a new account.
  3. If you’re enrolled in the system with a phone number only, you can call 781-393-2529 to leave a message with your name, address, and phone number.
If possible, we strongly encourage community members to create their own account which will allow you to edit your information directly. We also encourage you provide a physical address for your account to be sure that you get alerts and information specific to your address. If you do not provide an address, you may not receive updates about street closures, water shutoffs, and other important alerts.
If you have questions at any time, you can email City staff at Alerts@medford-ma.gov or call Jackie Piques, Director of Communications, at 781-393-2529.

Medford city services are available to all residents, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, economic situation, immigration status, ability, or benefit eligibility.

My post on Facebook; BREANNA KNOWS WHERE THE BODIES ARE BURIED

1,662,247 @ 12:29 AM July 27, 2020

 shame on breanna

Bob Penta was going to audit the high school AND the city government. That terrified the former mayor which is why he stole the election from Bob to stuff Stephanie in there. I wrote to the FBI in July of 2015 outlining how Mayor McGlynn would steal the election...only unlike Stat Smith in Everett they didn't get caught. Had Bob Penta audited them the entire cabal would have been sent up the river. Breanna KNOWS where all the bodies are buried and she's showing insufferable ignorance to the public. Shameful, she could really have changed the culture but the power of being a big fish in a little pond and ALL that money got to her before the first quarter of her term was out. Sickening
