It appears likely the two could face each other in a runoff election, with Mr Kemp leading Ms Abrams by nearly 63,000 votes.
However, a spokesperson for Mr Kemp’s office told the Associated Press there were nearly 22,000 provisional ballots of which details had only been shared with one candidate — Mr Kemp.
With the vast majority of media outlets refusing to call the election in either candidate’s favour, Ms Abrams has refused to concede to Mr Kemp despite his claiming victory.
In a call with reporters Wednesday morning, the Abrams campaign said in a statement, “Our opponent has had his office declare himself the victor and we do not accept that.”

Five boys at Maryland’s Damascus High School are charged with second-degree rape after a “hazing” ritual. (Getty)
Five boys on a Maryland high school football team are facing various rape charges after allegedly using a broomstick to assault teammates as part of a “hazing” ritual.
The Washington Post obtained police reports describing the alleged attacks of four members of the Damascus High School junior varsity football team on Halloween.

Tradition of ‘brooming’

One of the four alleged victims told police that he had heard about the tradition of “brooming” when he was in middle school but thought it was a myth. When he pleaded for his attackers to stop, they told him it was tradition, according to the report.
“He thought the football team was supposed to be a family and look out for each other … and did not think they could do something that horrible,” the police report states.
The alleged attackers turned off the lights in the locker room before pinning down their victims, according to the report. Two of the victims escaped after being pinned down while a 14- and 15-year old were allegedly assaulted with a broomstick.

Another victim told investigators that he was in the locker room, saw the first boy attacked and then heard the attackers say they were coming after him. They held him facedown over a bench and assaulted him with a broomstick for about 10 seconds, according to the incident report.

Yesterday, I announced that from a reliable source the LMH will be closing in 120 days. That information was generated as a result of employees receiving telephone calls from hospital managers stating that LMH medical services would be closing. Last evening at 6:07 pm from a LMH public relations person, an e-mail addressing the subject matter was sent out.
The e-mail expressed that a transition from emergency care services to urgent care services will be taking place within 120 days. Urgent care will continue to operate with longer hours of operation.
The e-mail notice further stated … “this transition in services is a 120-day process with the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. We will continue to communicate updates throughout the process. We have notified the Mayor’s office and City Councilors of this plan and expect there will be a public hearing sometime after our filing in 30 days”.
This type of last minute, pre-planned action by the LMH continues to demonstrate their lack of communication, their failure to be transparent and their lacking to be timely and forthright.
From August to September to October there have been community meetings, a public hearing and city council meetings regarding the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital proposal to build a new one story 17,000 s/f structure with the for profit company Shields on the LMH site.
The disclosure to end emergency care and its associated service(s) was never addressed to take place now during this Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) proposal. While some hospital, personnel comments have stated that some medical services are being reviewed as to their future use, never once did any hospital manager/employee ever address this closing to be this quick and now.
As for my own personal comments at all the public meetings and public hearing, I addressed this matter of the emergency room closing along with the school of nursing, in particular, along with any other of the hospital services that had been rumored about the immediate neighborhood and the city. They were never addressed with any specificity by Melrose-Wakefield management.
The mayor and city council need to have a more aggressive handling of this matter. They need to call the Melrose-Wakefield management and demand their attendance be at next Tuesday’s, Nov. 13th city council meeting to discuss this matter rather than Melrose-Wakefield telling the council they will attend at a later date. ( Is the tail wagging the dog ? )
The council meeting of September 11th regarding resolution matters such as this, being an important matter to discuss, has been completely ignored by the Melrose-Wakefield management to say the least.
Since 2012 when LMH had approximately a $30 million dollar surplus, the past two hospital administrators, Michael Sack and Allan McDonald were not the friends that our city believed them to be when in fact they were preparing for the transfer of LMH assets and services to the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in preparation for this type of move. Besides losing our hospital, we have lost the spirit our city had in keeping whatever the LMH was and/or could be…truly a shame.
As I have been stating since the ASC proposal has surfaced, I believe there is a back-up game plan the Melrose-Wakefield management has prepared for the LMH property and it probably will be a take it or leave it proposal.

The trial stems from an argument Asia Bibi had with a group of women in June 2009.
They were harvesting fruit when a row broke out about a bucket of water. The women said that because she had used a cup, they could no longer touch it, as her faith had made it unclean.
Prosecutors alleged that in the row which followed, the women said Asia Bibi should convert to Islam and that she made offensive comments about the Prophet Muhammad in response.
She was later beaten up at her home, during which her accusers say she confessed to blasphemy. She was arrested after a police investigation.
Acquitting her, the Supreme Court said that the case was based on unreliable evidence and her confession was delivered in front of a crowd "threatening to kill her".

Why is this case so divisive?

Islam is Pakistan's national religion and underpins its legal system. Public support for the strict blasphemy laws is strong.

Teacher Commits Suicide In Classroom

Friends, peers pay tribute to teacher who attempted suicide during school hours in his classroom and later died

Jordan Halane was found unconscious in his classroom by another teacher and was rushed to a local hospital, where he later died, Houston news station KTRK reported.
The school’s principal, Sonya Sanzo, wrote a letter to parents explaining what had happened.
As the situation unfolded, students were placed on a hold in their classrooms and were not aware of the medical emergency, Sanzo explained.
