A woman told police she was exiting I-93 South on the ramp to the Rt. 60 rotary in Medford when another driver tried to merge in front of her. As the car approached, the driver displayed what looked like a gun, police said.

FY21-FY26 Draft Capital Investment Plan by Jackie Piques On February 24, 2021, Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn released a draft of the City’s first-ever comprehensive 6-year Capital Investment Plan (CIP). Created through an intensive multi-departmental effort and led by a team at the Edward J. Collins, Jr. Center for Public Management at UMass Boston, the CIP for proposes a 6-year investment plan for prioritizing roadway quality, parks and open spaces, fleet and infrastructure investments and management, and modern water and wastewater infrastructure. The multi-departmental effort included both the City administration and the Medford Public Schools. This plan will change as the city changes and will be reviewed and updated each year to reflect the changing needs of the Medford community, the financial situation of the city, and the always present need to deliver high quality service to residents. The release of the City’s draft CIP follows a year-long effort, made possible by a $30,000 Community Compact Grant from the State, applied for and attained by Mayor Lungo-Koehn in January 2020 shortly after taking office. Prosecutors say man bought weapons from undercover FBI agent in Seabrook

Evidence showed that McLarnon contacted an arms dealer who was actually an undercover FBI agent in 2015. McLarnon paid $700 for the weapons and was taken into custody shortly afterward

Prosecutors said the evidence further showed McLarnon intended to kill his ex-wife's husband, U.S. District Judge Dennis Saylor in Boston, and former Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley

Public Meeting for Riverbend Park Labyrinth: March 3 by Jackie Piques City of Medford seeking input on design of a new meditative space at Riverbend Park.  The March 3 meeting is the latest in a series of public discussions about site re-use since 2018. The City of Medford will hold a virtual public meeting on Wednesday, March 3rd at 7:00 PM via Zoom to discuss the latest updates on the Riverbend Park Labyrinth project. Members of the Medford community are invited to attend and provide feedback on the proposed design. This 1,000 square foot corner of the park, close to the Andrews School and adjacent to where the future Clippership Connector will tie into the existing path network, showed exceptionally high levels of soil contamination during testing and is currently fenced off. This proposed project will construct a concrete cap over the area and return this corner of the park to active use by way of a meditative labyrinth space. By “capping” that section and creating options for passive/quiet use, contamination at that corner will be contained and will not pose a risk to park users or to the general public. During the March 3rd meeting, City staff, the project artist, and a representative of the Medford Arts Council will present proposed sketches and ideas for the space and ask for feedback.
