BREAKING NEWS ALERT

The first Massachusetts State Police trooper caught collecting pay for hours he did not work was sentenced Monday in federal court to a year of supervised release, including three months of home detention, and ordered to pay $7,000 in restitution.

Eric S. Chin, 46, of Hanover was also sentenced to one day of incarceration, which the judge deemed had already been served by his court appearance.
