Under Governor Charlie Baker, Republican, the Homeless epidemic has jumped a whopping FOURTEEN PERCENT in Massachusetts.

As I've stated many times, local politics is beyond "R" and "D" - and shame on everyone in all these communities where people are out in the cold and hungry. If we are going to blame politicians we must blame ourselves for not holding the feet of government officials to the fire. Open Meeting Law violations, Public Records Requests are the tools - as long as citizens can stand up to the inevitable retaliation. Change - logical change - does not come easy. The quickest way we can improve things is by people demanding that we don't continue to exist in a polarized society. So long as polarization exists, little will get done.

"There are now an estimated 20,000 people who are homeless in Massachusetts, the report finds.

That population has fluctuated over the last several years — it was higher, for instance, in 2014 (Deval Patrick, Governor)and 2015 (Charlie Baker, Governor.) Overall, since 2007, homelessness in the state has risen by nearly 5,000 people, or 33 percent.Dec 18, 2018" https://www.wbur.org/news/2018/12/18/homelessness-massachusetts-hud-report
