the ADAM KNIGHT BANK PHOTOS: WE WON THE APPEAL, MPD HAS UNTIL THURSDAY TO GET THEM TO US!

Wed, May 19 at 8:45 PM

Supervisor of Records
Secretary of the Commonwealth,
Public Records Division,
McCormack Building.
One Ashburton Place, Room 1719
Boston, MA 02108

Dear Supervisor Of Records,

Enclosed is a response from the Medford Police Department's Lt. Joseph W. Casey in regards to a second request (a follow-up) in regards to a police report of April 1, 2021 of City Council Vice President Adam Knight and his alleged wrongful conduct at a Bank of America on that day.

Also enclosed is my original May 12, 2021 request.

I respect Lt. Casey as he's been forthright with previous requests, especially given Medford Police Department's questionable reputation regarding records requests  (I never received ANY under former Chief of Police Leo A. Sacco, Jr. - the Chief who threatened me with "the police service
you deserve" after I discussed an alleged DUI incident concerning his son, MBTA Officer Joe Sacco, at the October 17, 2017 City Council of Medford meeting.

They took Joe Sacco's keys, truck and gun away, but no field sobriety test, no breathalyzer, etc.

Coincidentally, exactly a year after ex Chief Sacco's inappropriate and reckless discussion with me, October 17, 2018, an article appeared regarding the Medford Police Department's lack of response to public records requests

October 17, 2018

Medford Police Department appears to be ignoring public records requests, in some cases for years

Despite recent reforms to the Massachusetts Public Records Law, MPD’s repeated violations highlights need for enforcement

Here are reasons why I believe that the video and photographs should see the light of day:

1)This is an election cycle and the information is critical for the voters to make an informed decision

2)Sgt. Mackowski and Paul Covino at the MPD have had ample time to review the information.
Council VP Knight allegedly smashed a door at the Bank of America, allegedly fled at a high rate of speed,
and the city council is covering it up.  I will provide evidence.

3)The Medford Transcript went on the story on or about May 10, 2021, 11:21 am after this journalist broke the story
April 22, 2021, and then the publication of the entire police report on

Transcript:

4)On or about April 28, 2021 I published the entire 7 page police report thanks to the efficiency of
Lieutenant Joseph Casey.   My publication started hitting about 1,000 page views a day since the publication of the Adam Knight Police Report

945 reviews May 19, 2021 as of 8 pm today for the past 24 hour period
 957 on May 18, 2021

This is of huge public interest, 22 days of 1,000 page views (more or less)...there are 1,440 minutes in a day.

5)On May 4 and May 18, 2021 I have attempted to bring this information to the public via the city council

As Knight is the Vice President of the City Council the Council President, Richard F. Caraviello, is going to extraordinary
measures to keep me from speaking

a)The City Clerk created a fraudulent petition designed for them to rule my petition "out of order."  It was not what I wrote

b)Caraviello ruled it out of order with no basis to do so, I believe.  I filed an Open Meeting Law violation which the city is
  about to respond to.

c)Caraviello then took the extraordinary measure of violating the sanctity of my free speech, posting his own voice over    my voice to deny my speech.   Councilors take an oath to uphold the First Amendment.  In Medford they violate the   oath with impunity   See my previous appeals/requests for proof of that to the Public Records Division

d)Last night Council President Caraviello pulled the same stunt, wasting my time, my $20.00 (back and forth) Lyft fees,    a third Open Meeting Law violation is being filed tonight or tomorrow

6)The L'Italien Report.   City Hall DENIED me the 64 page report calling it a "personnel" issue.  Your office -
the Public Records Division - ruled in my favor.  That Report is #1 tonight since its publication around Nov 26 or so, 2019.

The Report City Hall denied me, that the Public Records Division granted me, is #1 a year and a half after publication.  Great public interest?   The news site has 1,854,732 views as of 8:15 pm tonight.  Extraordinary readership for a blog.

7)These are volunteer efforts to help the taxpayers/voters of Medford.  I take no money for my hard work and honest effort

8)Sgt. Mackowski and Paul Covino are involved in the investigation regarding this records request.
As the L'Italien Report is in regards to disgraced, untrustworthy officers, the follow-up report on D.A. Marian Ryan's   Brady List was even more shocking: 117 disgraced officers, the majority of them in Medford (I believe 32 or 34)

My publisher told me that we received a quarter of a million hits in the Somerville Weekly News and Modern Cop Magazine   He attributed the number to enormous "Facebook" shares.

Again - of GREAT public interest.   This is all volunteer mind you, and look at the amazing results.

9)Mackowski could be retaliating against this journalist as I prevailed over him and he seemed to be embarrassed in court with his foolishness.

Sgt. Mackowski is not an honest man, yet he is heading the investigation into Adam Knight's alleged wrongful conduct.

After I was assaulted physically and verbally by  former city clerk Edward P. Finn, the police threatened me with "witness intimidation" if I proceeded with the case.
On advice of counsel I dropped the case so that I could speak freely during an election cycle. This is how Covino
and Mackowski play the game, unethically and without the best interest of the victim or the public.

In what appears to be retaliation for a public records request of December 2015 regarding allegations of an affair between a varsity coach and a mayor's daughter,
Mackowski resurrected MY CASE which I had dropped, admitting that Ed Finn had assaulted me physically (because you can't have a witness intimidation case
without a crime) and intentionally drained me financially for his false claims that I intimidated the City Council President, Richard F. Caraviello, who lied to the
police in his testimony.   Caraviello allegedly perjured himself in court as well.  I prevailed over all of them.

The key for the Public Records Division is that as I prevailed over these government officials who fail to hold themselves to the highest of standards
(as seen by the article on the MPD's failure to properly respond to many records requests, it's a long, sad history) - despite the Council President lying
to the police (and allegedly to judge and jury as well) this reporter prevailed.

Now Mackowski is investigating the Knight case, and Caraviello is retaliating by limiting my speech at the council.

The  taxpayers and voters suffer in an election cycle when less-than-honorable men such as Covino, Mackowski and Caraviello involve themselves in yet
another case of another government official allegedly breaking the law.

As with the L'Italien Report that the Records Division allowed me to obtain, the Knight incident dates back to April 1, 2021. This is not rocket science.
An honest and decent police department would have arrested the Council VP, arraigned him, and let a judge or jury decide why Knight fled the scene
after destroying a thick, impregnable Bank of America door.

I respect Lt. Casey for his previous forthright response.   I do not trust Covino or Mackowsk, as surely as I do not trust the Council President.
As they say "the wagons are being circled" and when a story has this much public interest, that it made the weekly paper on May 10th, is no
reason to backtrack and say the investigation is "ongoing."    We are talking about Sgt. Mackowski who admitted to a judge he had no standing
to file charges on a victim of an alleged hate crime.  Mackowski claimed he could "resurrect" a case at any time during the statute of limitations.
It was a vendetta and Mackowski looked foolish in court.   The victim of the hate crime prevailed, and Mackowski went after the victim, probably
the most shameful act a police officer can do.

Retaliation by Mackowski and Caraviello against this journalist they clearly loathe is no reason to deny the public news of great public interest.

My apologies for the length of this appeal.  Given the hostility some of the police and many on the council have towards the public, all the
more reason that the public get to see these videos and photographs as soon as possible due to the ramifications it will have on the 2021 election.

Mr. Knight's conduct is being hushed up.   I respectfully request the photographs and the video(s).
The police already gave me the police report.  The weekly paper has published the information, and the publication of those materials
will in no way effect the alleged investigation as Sgt Mackowski discusses that he's viewed the evidence in the April police report

Thank you
