FOREWORD

People have been badgering me for years to write the story of Medford's perpetual political corruption.

The commercial potential seemed illogical, garden variety pseudo mobsters acting like political gentlemen.   Virtually unknown outside the city limits with very uninteresting people and lives.

    So what?

Yet the success of the Medford Information Central blog in publishing what all the other media won't, is proof that - locally - people do care about their rights and their finances.   That "people are the same everywhere," as the Twilight Zone noted so efficiently.   The invisible tentacles of a powerful political family ruined many lives in the city, stifling the huge potential of a municipality only five miles from one of the most famous cities in the world, Boston.

But why is the story found on a blog?

The "mainstream" local press  from Dan Kennedy's Media Nation, intentionally weak reporting of the weekly Medford Transcript - ostensibly doing the bidding of a former mayor, the haphazard Medford Patch unable to credit blockbuster stories properly, all imitating the now defunct  Medford Daily Mercury and Malden Evening News in not reporting the news without permission

Permission from whom?   Ahhhh....there's the rub

THE MEDFORD POLITICAL UNDERWORLD
A book on corruption in the city 5 miles north of Boston, investigated and constructed by Joe Viglione

Chapter 1
Mark Rumley's Vicious Assault on the Lungo-Koehn Administration

In early 2003 Mark Rumley and the director of the Office of Human Diversity and Compliance, Diane McLeod -
title-less Neil Osborne's predecessor (as of this writing, 11:36 pm July 13, 2021,)  met with me in the meeting room of the city solicitor's office.

This was  regarding multiple complaints on Medford Community Cablevision, Inc.
