(MEDFORD) — Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn officially named Nina Nazarian as her Chief of Staff on December 27. Nazarian had been serving on an interim basis since September 13, when she took over for departing Chief of Staff David Rodrigues. The City posted the Chief of Staff job listing on December 2.
“Nina has proven herself to be an exceptional member of our team, helping guide key policy directives, helping to modernize our workforce and ensuring City operations remain smooth and functional during this latest surge,” Mayor Lungo-Koehn said. “She has been a reliable ally, offers thoughtful advice based on her years of government experience and she will continue to serve the people of Medford with professionalism and humility.”
Nazarian joined Mayor Lungo-Koehn’s administration in September 2020 in the Office of Procurement, acting as special project manager for complex projects and procurements for the City. Prior to joining the Lungo-Koehn administration she served as Town Administrator for Littleton and Princeton, Massachusetts. In her time with the City of Medford, Nina has been instrumental in managing and securing grants and projects such as renovation and restoration of the City’s fire department facilities and in the development of new procurement policies to guide City staff.
“I am honored and humbled that the Mayor has entrusted me to lead her staff and help craft and implement her policy goals for her second term,” Nazarian said. “I have seen first-hand the dedication and commitment the Mayor has for this community and I can’t wait to continue on the work we have been doing to make her vision for Medford a reality.”
