Thank you, Lt. Casey
My concern is that an elected official has acted in a manner
that violates his oath of office.
The public, and this reporter, were not apprised of the date of the September 2021
magistrate's hearing prior to an election.
This didn't help the public, this benefited the culprit, Adam Knight.
I think we can agree that the police department and this writer are more aware
of the conduct of the city council (and school committee) than many in Medford.
When police chief Jack Buckley goes up to the council with untruths, that his
police force are "all good men and women," (Oct 1, 2019) and I get the L'Italien
Report (with city hall and the police fighting me to keep it from being released,)
we see that these "all good men and women" are the most brady-infested
(untrustworthy) in all of Middlesex County.
This is not serving, this is not protecting, this is - in my opinion - breaking
the oath of office.
From former council president Rick Caraviello lying to the police, working with
MPD's Kevin Faller and Paul Covino to file false charges on a reporter,
Caraviello allegedly committing perjury, well, it's the rule not the exception in
Medford.
My instincts tell me that the MPD most likely wanted me to have the photos, that
outside forces (possibly Sean O'Brien and the union) didn't want the public to have
the information prior to an election. It's quite sick when you look at it objectively.
Adam Knight hurts the community; Brady-listed officers, and those who should
be on the Brady list (my friend Harry MacGilvray, Capt Faller, Paul Covino, Stephen
Lebert) do not live up to their oath of office.
I submit that you, Mr. Casey, and your department, are failing to protect and serve
when an undisputed maniac like Adam Knight can be so detrimental to life in Medford
and be enabled by the very department that is supposed to protect us, your department,
Medford Police Department.
This reporter has taken the hits, in a city where there is no public access TV, the weekly
Transcript was a wholly owned subsidiary of Mayor Michael J. McGlynn, Inc. (I worked
for the various companies that owned the Wicked Local over the years; I saw it first hand)
and where the Medford Patch is a joke. I do the heavy lifting, break a story, and the Patch
attributes it to the johnny-come-lately Transcript.
Sources tell me that Chief Buckley can't control his force, has police officers who want
to leave, and a simple request for photographs revealing a public figure, Councilor Knight,
smashing a bank door (I still can't wrap my brain around that one, other than his heinous
act was committed on April Fool's Day last year) is enabled by the very police department
that is supposed to protect and serve us from maniacs like Mr. Knight.
Lt. Casey, I know too much. My informants are vast and credible. Knight's private life
is a mess and hideous, according to sources. Good sources. His destruction of a bank
door is no shock, it is expected from an individual who heckles the Director of Public Health
(6/1/21)at the city council AFTER smashing the bank door 4/1/21,) or threatening me at the council which
he did about six years ago (resorting to anger and potential violence; just as city clerk Ed Finn
slugged me and got away with it; and skipped out on a subpoena to court.) These people
are not rational, nor are they civic-minded. They are violent thugs.
And your police department enables the violence. A police chief who cannot tell the truth
to the public, exposed when my public records request unleashed The L'Italien Report,
I get death threats and a cement slab through my bedroom window prior to publishing
the L'Italien Report, and my publisher in Somerville, Bill Tauro, tells me that Marian Ryan's
Brady list got over a quarter of a million hits because of all the "shares" on Facebook.
That is what we call "great public interest" - and you know across the U.S.A. police
departments do NOT want the Brady lists revealed. My hard work is the exception,
not what gets out to the public all the time. I've noticed there are people like me across
the USA (a woman runs a blog in California, I believe, and it is interesting to see that she
runs into the same brick walls that I run into.) My hard work and honest efforts benefit
the community; the police enabling councilors who have proved to be unscrupulous and
unethical reflects badly on your department.
These thin-skinned reprobates are allowed to vote on their own pay raise (the city council,)
and look at the purse, not for the welfare of the community.
For over nine years I've been submitting public records requests to the office of the Attorney
General regarding the missing thirty-eight thousand dollars that Medford Community Cablevision
couldn't account for in the Transcript, ex solicitor Mark E. Rumley investigating the very board
that he sat on twice. In what universe. You must certainly know, as I know, that it isn't thirty
eight grand missing: more like six figures and it could allegedly go up to three hundred thousand
dollars. And the top cop, Martha Coakley, and her successor, Maura Healey, for nine years
keep telling me they can't talk about Lynn Access Television and Medford Community Cablevision
as it may impede "law enforcement." Really? They impeded law enforcement and the statute
of limitations and I'd like to know why.
As stated, I know too much. Facts. I don't think I've filed one public records request in
Malden, the four years I've been here. Malden has its problems with access TV (two stalkers on
the board of directors, and a sexual harassment claim,) and there are rumors about this or
that in Malden, expected with any city, but let's face it, Lt. Casey, Medford is over the top
and an embarrassment.
Adam Knight's case was "continued." How about, guilty as charged, and like Ed Finn,
he is getting away with it.
That's not police work. That's aiding and abetting.
This senior citizen knows it when he sees it, like Chief Justice Potter Stewart.
My removing Mayor McGlynn's uncle from the housing authority board via
Gov. Deval Patrick's office, my removal of TV3 (that was your job, not mine,)
a little evidence that my investigations get results.
You have impeded law enforcement, to paraphrase the AG's office, by failing
to hand over photographs of a city councilor engaging in violence, in "wanton
destruction" as the extremely deleterious Detective MacKowski put it (thankfully
retired.)
Perhaps some time in the future we'll get an ethical police chief who believes in
the oath of office; in protecting and serving, but right now, the city is a mess and
I believe this reporter has uncovered a few of the reasons why.
Respectfully,
Joe Viglione
