Maiocco

DISGRACE

"I'm just grateful to be a city councilor and, along with my colleagues, we're going to do the best we can for the city,"   Robert Alexander Maiocco January 11, 2013, Boston Globe http://www.boston.com/yourtown/news/medford/2013/01/medford_council_re-appoints_le.html

Embattled City Councilor Robert A. Maiocco is looking more like Bernie Madoff than the "upstanding Medford resident' he claims to be.

On April 9, 2013, Maiocco refused to allow a citizen talk about the topic!  Maiocco violated Rule 17 of the City Council indulging in censorship and acting in a vicious - and some would say - violent way.

1)COUNCIL "PRESIDENT" MAIOCCO ACCUSED OF VIOLATING THE CITY COUNCILS OWN RULES!

http://medford.org/Pages/MedfordMA_Council/City%20Council%20Rules.pdf

RULES OF DEBATE
Rule 17.
Upon all debatable matters a Councillor shall speak
no more than three (3) times
or more than fifteen (15) minutes on the same issue
. Any citizen or petitioner
shall be limited to ten (10) minutes. *

*A speaker noted how the City Council had failed to

2)FACT: City Council under Maiocco a threat to public safety.  Maiocco fails to keep the public safe.

Robert A. Maiocco not only enabled his friends at TV3 Medford to disrupt the meeting to attack a man Maiocco has targeted for persecution, when it got out of hand Maiocco himself had to call the police because Matthew Page-Lieberman was physically assaulting Maiocco's victim!

Maiocco accepted an apology from Page-Lieberman the next week; probably an apology because Page-Lieberman didn't kill the man that Maiocco has fixated on for the past five years.

Officers from the Medford Police Department arrived at City Hall at approximately 9:15 p.m., after Council President Robert Maiocco called and reported a disturbance that was interrupting the meeting.

3)Alleged Failure to File Conflict of Interest Disclosure with the city

Councilor Robert A. Maiocco of Wells Fargo failed to file conflict-of-interest disclosure with the city!   Maiocco's wife has worked for the schools for more than 30 years; Mrs. Cheryl Maiocco recently sold a home to the daughter of Michael J. McGlynn, the Mayor who is the Chairman of the School Committee!

September 27, 2012 Medford Transcript

Medford City Council President Robert Maiocco’s wife, for example, has worked for the schools for more than 30 years, currently as an evaluation team leader (ETL) for special education services.  The paper notes that Maiocco had FAILED to file  conflict-of-interest disclosures with the city as of Sept. 24, 2012.

5)Maiocco recuses himself from Brooks Estate vote, but fails to recuse himself for a vote for himself to be "president" of the Council

BROOKS ESTATE WEBSITE

Or, a list of individual City Councilors is found at www.medford.org/Pages/MedfordMA_Council/index. Please note that Councilors Camuso and Maiocco have been recused and will not be voting on this matter.
http://www.brooksestate.org/

Recused from the Brooks Estate vote, why would Maiocco NOT recuse himself for voting for himself to be "president" ???

In the vote, Maiocco, Camuso, Dello Russo and Rick Caraviello all nominated each other, then invoked the rule of necessity in order to cast votes for president. Each voted for Maiocco, along with Lungo-Koehn, while Marks and Penta refused to vote.
As the votes were being announced, Penta could be heard from his chair behind the rail.
"This is a joke," he said.

http://www.boston.com/yourtown/news/medford/2013/01/medford_council_re-appoints_le.html

Following his nomination, Maiocco personally apologized for the council's actions earlier in the week, and vowed to serve the best interest of the city.

Maiocco NEVER apologized to his victim.

MAIOCCO VOTES FOR HIMSELF

On Tuesday Councilor Michael Marks said he'd received an opinion from the state Ethics Commission that councilors who vote for themselves for president and vice president could have a conflict of interest.

This is because the president and vice president carry higher stipends than other councilors.

For his part, Penta did not believe the rule of necessity would override the conflict of interest issue.
Finn called for a vote. Marks and Penta voted "present" while the rest of the council voted for Maiocco, including Maiocco himself.

"This whole thing was a ploy to get around electing the person to this particular position," Penta said. "It's wrong, it's not good, it's not healthy for the city and it doesn't do justice to this Medford City Council."
After being sworn in by Finn, Maiocco said he was grateful to be a city councilor and looked forward to doing the best for the community "despite our differences."
Maiocco also apologized for what happened at Tuesday night's meeting.

Now, the Thirty Thousand Dollar Question - why would Maiocco recuse himself from the Brooks Estate vote and not recuse himself from voting for his own pay raise to 30K

The DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS and the devil is Robert Alexander Maiocco, taking your money by bullying his way into the position, not duly elected! in the opinion of the residents paying these Councilors THREE TIMES  what Woburn pays its City Councilors.

8)Ethics Issues and Maiocco August 16, 2011
Maiocco argued he did not violate the ethics law by voting on the health insurance issue because the vote was not on a “particular matter” and there was no “particular interest.”

“It’s in the aggregate,” said Maiocco. “There isn’t any direct benefit. That’s a benefit that’s negotiated by the city and the unions.”

9)Allegation that Robert A. Maiocco VIOLATED Rule #43 when he didn't allow "ALL" citizens to utilize the council "for the dissemination" of public information

COUNCIL CHAMBERS
Rule 43.
The Medford City Council Chambers shall be open to all Medford citizens for the purposes of disseminating public information, holding of public meetings and
hearings, the holding of City Council and School Committee meetings when

Editorial:

Our letter to Council V.P. Fred Dello Russo will post here soon.

We are demanding that Council President Robert A. Maiocco recuse himself from the presidency and the council in light of the scandalous revelations found in the complaints, the allegations that Maiocco took advantage of an elderly client resulting in a $5,000.00 payout to the aggrieved party, Maiocco's victim.

Why did Robert A. Maiocco settle if he did nothing wrong?

Why did Robert A Maiocco allegedly not even tell his colleagues on the City Council that he had been called out on doubtful, mistrustful, suspicious choices that he, Maiocco, made as a financial adviser?

Robert Alexander Maiocco's troubling behavior on the City Council itself, snapping at Councilor Michael Marks for the report to the State Ethics commission was not only immature, it was regrettably unprofessional and a spit in the face to the taxpayers who expect higher standards from elected officials.

____________________________________________ COUNCILOR MARKS ACCUSES MARK E. RUMLEY, CITY SOLICITOR OF BEING 'UNDERHANDED'

Marks accused Rumley of being "underhanded" by going to the Ethics Commission without being asked to do so by the council. Rumley said he questioned whether it was any more underhanded than Marks's decision to get an opinion from an Ethics Commission attorney, then announce it in "blindsided fashion" during a meeting where they were supposed to elect officers.

REMEMBER, we were tipped off to Robert A. Maiocco's suspicious business practices back around February 27th when a tipster said that Maiocco's clients were allegedly "fleeing" from him.

Does anyone think Robert A. Maiocco is going to be forthright

with the residents and tell us how many clients he has lost?

Robert A Maiocco's client list probably resembles the empty membership list of Medford Community Cablevision, Inc.

Frank Pilleri told the Medford Transcript "our members love us" after Pilleri scared everyone away until there were only a handful of suckers drinking Pilleri's poisonous Kool-Aid.

And you thought Ones and Zeros just digital information!

Ones and zeros, allegedly the membership of TV3 and Bob Maiocco's client list.

"It's time for a new president of TV3; things would be a lot better down there."  Robert A Maiocco

File Under: IT TAKES ONE TO KNOW ONE!
