Osborne Campaign Troubles

Osborne's campaign allegedly a mess.

Key supporters defect - one of the main issues is Osborne's inability to grasp simple issues

Many residents have noted what a weak candidate NAACP (Mystic Valley) President and Discrimination attorney Neil Osborne has appeared to be in the first weeks of the campaign.  With the papers due by July 25th there is talk of defections in the Osborne camp, a wishy/washy attitude to a stack of issues, and perhaps the strangest thing (as Oborne is an amiable fellow), a failure to connect with the public.

Osborne's stand off-ish  approach has allegedly led to internal conflicts within his campaign and a candidate who doesn't even know what his platform is and whose vote he wants.

This is an intriguing story as Osborne's credentials created a buzz months ago.  With 12 candidates on the sheet at the Registrars of Voters office to date (and Bob Maiocco slyly not committing to being a candidate at this date) one thing is for certain, 2013 is destined to be one of the most interesting campaigns for Medford City Council in many, many years.    Osborne, like Ed Markey's opponent, had an initial bump that is disappearing at July's midpoint.  Not the way to gain momentum.   Will Neil Osborne be the "Sarah Palin" of Medford Politics and will his candidacy create a path for new faces to leave him in the dust and shake-up the council itself?  Do stay tuned
