___________________________ Former Mayor's Presence More Significant than Muccini-Burke, and that's how Mike Likes It
A Joe Viglione Essay
Mark Rumley is the poor man's Attorney Tom Hagen (played by Robert Duvall) in Godfather! Where Duvall is a great actor, Rumley is a bad actor. Where Hagen is a brilliant legal mind, Rumley is the also-ran, missing McGlynn's majesty by a mile and content to be the most powerful man in Medford...under McGlynn.
Clinging desperately to McGlynn's coattails.

Fictional character Caul A. Pumuso was desperate to be mayor. He thought all along he was the "heir apparent." Pumuso, purportedly, was the inspiration for Mark E. Rumley doing a CORI check on everyone at the access TV station. Hey, pizza delivery guys are one thing, but grandma and the meat cleaver?...oh, we love poking fun at Mr. Pumuso ... he didn't get to be mayor but his wife got a $69.00 stipend or something and payments to be on a commission she's not qualified to be on...the only qualifications - her husband's inerrant ability to genuflect and kiss the king's ring. And for his particular family situation it worked out well. Not so good for the rest of Medford (parody).
But when an investigator reporter in July of 2015 tells the FBI that the Medford election will be stolen, it's a good thing family is there to make sure uncle's plans don't go sideways...
Oh...what do I know...McGlynn is probably in Tahiti soaking up the sun and drinking to his heart's content.
Right.
You think this is a parody? Maybe it is...maybe it isn't...but to disregard the warnings in between the lines about the termites eating away at your resources...well, you do so at your own peril...
