Last
night at the City Council of Medford, 12-12-17, the flag of the United
States of America was obscured by tables. How disrespectful.
The
City Solicitor, the City Clerk and the councilors all pledge allegiance
to one flag while another flag right next to it, is desecrated.
In
what appears to be an alleged admission of guilt at exactly 7:45 pm the
council "president," Richard F. Caraviello, with a history of harassing
citizens expressing their First Amendment rights, barked at me to "stop
filming."
Obviously, Caraviello most likely realized the flag desecration would be an issue and ...again --- Caraviello attempted to stomp on my First Amendment rights. I ignored the individual and kept taking photos while telling him they were snapshots.

a)when has the not-very-camera-shy council when behind the rail EVER stopped a citizen from taking photos?
b)At
30K a year, or 200k plus for citizens paying for this fiasco of a
powerless government body, we deserve better than to have interruptions
from a gavel-crazed buffoon.
IN any event the council should be sanctioned for desecrating the U.S. flag...on camera even more so!
And why does a city solicitor spend more time fuming at this writer than doing the right thing for our nation's symbol?
