LETTER TO THE MEDFORD TRANSCRIPT

Dear Medford Transcript:

Miranda Wilson's article on the Modera Medford scandal, that workers "recover stolen wages" has a photo of unethical Richard F. Caraviello, the council president in Medford, Paul Donato who claims to be the anti-bullying champion and  Mayor Stephanie Muccini-Burke.   What were these three individuals doing in a photo op at a place where the headline screams:

Workers for Medford housing development recover stolen wages

Muccini-Burke, Caraviello and Donato are in another photo op, 10-15-17 where the anti-bullying government official, Mr. Donato, sexually harasses two little children (possibly the offspring of John Falco,) and a student when Donato's hand moves from one area directly to the erogenous zone of then council vice president Michael Marks.  Marks, so typical, shuts his mouth and says nothing about the sex crime.  Perhaps he enjoyed it.   See attached photo.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

ANTI-BULLYING STATE REP IN PHOTO OP WITH MAYOR MUCCINI-BURKE AND RICK CARAVIELLO.
CARAVIELLO LOST A PHONY CASE IN CRIMINAL COURT 1-31-17

READ THIS AND CHECK OUT THE PHOTO OP WITH THE 3 GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS NOTED ABOVE:
Non-union workers employed by Quest, some of whom were undocumented immigrants, also complained of verbal abuse, intimidation and threats of deportation, Rivera said.
“On the job site, especially the Modera Medford one, one of the foremen would verbally abuse the workers as far as whether they’re being too slow, calling them names,” Rivera said. “In the construction industry, it’s typical, but the extent was overboard.”
Supervisors on site allegedly threatened to call Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) on workers in some instances, which Rivera believes may have scared them into silence.

So Donato, the big anti-bullying representative is in two photos - one on Modera Medford where undocumented immigrants allegedly were verbally abused, intimidated and extorted with threats of deportation, and the anti-bullying government official Donato is in the photo op!

Do people get it?

Muccini-Burke laughs at Donato's sexual harassment of two little children, Caraviello is in that photo, and now these allegations of extortion, verbal abuse and intimidation?

Anti-Bullying?  Spare us!   Donato is a bully.

Mr. Donato yelled at me on the telephone because I had posted that Michael J. McGlynn's daughter, Kathleen M. Brady, was on a witness list for vice presidential candidate John Edwards.  So what?  If Donato was on that witness list, if this reporter was on that witness list, it would be Medford news.  But Donato tried to silence my writing about information important to Medford residents.  Donato bullied and attempted to censor me.

And when was the last time you saw my work on the air in Medford?  My Rob Gronkowski interview on Comcast's Video on Demand, and they reneged on airing five more of my shows that they were required to air!

The bully sponsors anti-bullying legislation. So typical of wolf-in-the-hen house behavior.  But don't believe me, just believe the photo I snapped 10-15-17 at 10:30 am at the Medford High School opening of Mayor Burke's private access TV station with political types, not the public, invited to the grand opening - which was two days after Medford teacher Jenna Tarabelsi was convicted of raping a 15 year old student in Middlesex Superior Court, Friday the 13th October 2017

Oh spare us, Bully Donato sponsoring an anti-bullying bill is like Muccini-Burke sponsoring a bill for fiscal responsibility, like Donald Trump sponsoring an anti-Russia bill!   It's such an oxymoron...as the Three Stooges would say, 1 % Oxy, 99 % moron!

Op Ed - Bullying...

Responding to what is emerging as an important social issue I recently authored the following Op Ed on bullying. I would welcome the comments of constituents. Send an email to RepDonato38@aol.com.

Here is the Op Ed in full:

Date: January 29, 2007

The time has come to take initiative and address a source of school trouble. Bullying in schools is a problem that has negative effects on school environment and on student’s ability to learn in a safe atmosphere without fear. Bullying can also have negative life-long consequences both for students who bully and for their victims. Bullying can be comprised of direct behaviors or more indirectly by causing a student to be socially isolated through intentional exclusion.

There are problems other than lack of money and opportunity that can make children troubled or desperate enough to lash out. Mental health difficulties, family problems, domestic violence are not just confined to the poor. Bullying happens in all schools- rich, middle-class, and poor. Sometimes we call it “teasing,” “taunting,” or “kids being kids,” but it is all the same thing- kids being abusive to each other.

Research shows that bullying and abuse are important causes of school violence. The studies of school assaults in the 1990’s established that fact. The good news is that bullying is one thing we can change – in any school, in any town, and in any community.

At the Massachusetts Aggression Reduction Center, kids tell us about the perils of standing by or laughing along while another student is being abused. They talk about not being an active bystander, because going along with abuse helps the bully and anyone can become a victim. In a way, though, we’re all bystanders – we all stand by while kids abuse each other, and maybe we don’t always try hard enough to change how kids and adults think about bullying. We know that sometimes parents of victims feel like they’re all alone in their struggles to help their child. Sometimes towns and schools don’t want to take a hard look at preventing bullying because they worry that it might mean they have a “bullying problem.” Does practicing fire drills mean that a school has a serious fire problem? No; fire kills, and we want to keep kids safe. Bullying kills too. Let’s practice bullying prevention, and keep kids safe.

Together, we can all make a difference. Tomorrow call your local State Representative or Senator and send a message saying “PLEASE SUPPORT ANTI-BULLYING BILL HD842”. Together, we can send a message loudly enough to make a difference and to begin the journey towards understanding that school violence doesn’t just happen “somewhere else” – it can be prevented everywhere.

Sincerely,

Rep. Paul J. Donato (D-Medford, Malden)
Chairman
Committee on Steering, Policy and Scheduling

and

Elizabeth Englander, Ph.D

Again, I welcome your comments.
