Presented for youth, families and residents of all ages, the virtual and televised forum will provide support and tips on stress relief and asking for help, especially when experiencing anxiety and depression in the time of COVID-19.

Mayor Breanna Lungo-Koehn, the City of Medford and Medford resident and professional Motivational Speaker Eric Daddario, invite Medford residents to join in a virtual community forum on Wednesday, January 27 at 6 p.m.

Eric Daddario travels throughout the country speaking to middle and high school students, encouraging youth to advocate for themselves and providing tools and tips on how to ask for help during challenging situations and in times of need, such as when faced with anxiety or stress. Eric’s presentation on January 27 will be a presentation to residents and families of all ages. Because some difficult topics may be covered – such as anxiety, depression, and substance use – adult supervision for younger residents is suggested.

“Navigating school, work, extracurricular activities, and absorbing news and information is challenging for anyone in a normal year, but with so many added stressors and changes to our daily lives this past year, it’s natural for people to be dealing with stress and anxiety. Eric Daddario is a great motivational speaker who draws on his own experiences and works to give people the tools and the courage to ask for help. Given all that is going on – for all of us – right now, I invited Eric to come and speak here in his hometown. I am looking forward to a good discussion and a good presentation, and I hope residents of all ages as well as families of our middle and high school aged students will join us,” said Mayor Lungo-Koehn.

“I’m excited to be able to bring this program to my home city of Medford. The last year has been difficult in so many ways and I want to show that speaking up and asking for help is a strength and not a sign of weakness, it shows how truly strong you are. We all need help at some point, and I hope that reinforcing this message can help others through anything they might be experiencing,” Eric said.
The forum will be hosted live via Zoom and will also be broadcast live on Public Access (channel 3 on Comcast, channel 47 on Verizon). To access the Zoom link, visit www.medfordma.org, and click on “Events Calendar.” If time allows, a virtual question and answer session will follow Eric’s presentation. The forum will be rebroadcast on Medford Community Media after January 27.

Medford FALSELY CLAIMS that city services are available to all residents, regardless of race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, religion, age, language ability, economic situation, or immigration status.  Ha! The joke is on you! Ask Neil Osborne for some help and the lazy individual throws it into the circular file or has some excuse.  His predecessor, Diane McLeod would tell you to go to the MCAD (code for go to hell.)    What a joke!
