Hello Westford,   I have good news to share: the American people won and the federal government will remain open! Yesterday, at the last possible minute and after months of far-right Members playing chicken with American lives, House Republicans finally admitted defeat.  Democrats have put out the fire that the GOP started . We passed a funding bill and stopped the Republican effort to restrict abortion rights and slash Social Security and education. We will not allow extremist Republicans’ twisted values to become law.   ARE YOU TIRED OF THE GOP'S POLITICAL GAMES?     Now, it’s time to build a bipartisan budget that meets the needs of working families and lives up to the agreement that Speaker McCarthy already agreed to in June. As a Member of the House Democratic leadership, I will continue to put the American people at the center of our work – lowering the cost of living, supporting public schools, and protecting reproductive freedom.
