Vote Lungo-Koehn on November 7 2023

Hi Joseph, Vote Lungo-Koehn on November 7 2023
(as in, a vote for the zucchini-brain opponent is worthless!)

 Hi Joseph,

When I came into office, our city’s infrastructure was

overdue for maintenance and repair. We learned through our

sidewalk assessment that the City has an estimated backlog

repairs of over $30 million due to decades of neglect.

I feel this burden every day as a Medford resident

and as I listen to residents about how the status of our

sidewalks is impacting their daily lives.

So, we got to work right away to deliver for our community by:

    * Investing nearly $3 million to repair additional sidewalks this fall,

allowing 8,800 feet (2 miles) of sidewalk in our community

to receive upgrades and repairs and addressing many of the

sidewalk issues logged by constituents over the years.

    * Submitting a $1.5 million bond for additional sidewalk

repairs to the City Council at the beginning of this year,

which the council approved. The planning is underway a

nd that funding will be deployed to address sidewalks

and curb cuts on Salem Street and beyond, next year.

We have professionalized management which has helped

accomplish the work to maximize state and federal

funding to make these capital investments without

over-burdening taxpayers. I am proud of the teams in

Engineering and our DPW for executing these projects with urgency.

We still have work to do, but as your mayor,

I am continuing to take action to address this

backlog and ensure that we all have accessible and high-quality infrastructure in our City.
