Boston Herald Goes on Attempted Bribery of Police Chief Buckley Story

Joshua Levy, the first assistant U.S. Attorney for Massachusetts, said during a Friday press conference announcing the indictment that there is no information in the indictment to indicate that the marijuana business had anything to do with or was even aware of the scheme.

The relative told Buckley about the proposed bribe and Buckley, in turn, immediately alerted the FBI to the scheme. The relative, “Individual 1,” agreed to be recorded both in telephone and in-person meet-ups with Donovan from the alleged scheme’s beginnings that February through the end of that year.

“I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the Medford police chief and his relative who did not hesitate to do what was right and put their community’s interest above their own,” Joseph Bonavolonta, the special agent in charge of the FBI’s Boston office, said in the press conference.   https://www.bostonherald.com/2022/06/24/somerville-attorney-indicted-on-charges-that-he-tried-to-bribe-medford-police-chief/
