Teacher sentenced for slitting wife's throat after she discovers his sexual relationship with student
A former Michigan teacher will spend decades behind bars after slitting his wife's throat when she learned he was having a sexual relationship with a middle school student.
James Chelekis, 32, has been behind bars since attacking his wife with a knife inside their Wyoming home on June 27.
The violence began after Chelekis and his wife began discussing his affair, which at the time she did not know involved a 14-year-old girl, the Detroit Free Press reports. She soon learned the relationship had been going on for about a year.
