A Revere man is in jail on $100,000 bail after he allegedly attempted to prostitute a woman to an undercover cop.
“This incident provides a clear example of how human trafficking works and how traffickers manipulate and exploit victims for their personal financial gain,” said Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden in a statement. “This type of crime degrades streets and communities, and above all, places short-term dangers and long-term scars on victims.”
Juan Vanegas, 31, was charged Wednesday in Chelsea District Court with one count of trafficking a person for sexual servitude. His next court date is scheduled for Thursday.
Should Vanegas post bail, Judge Matthew Machera set release conditions that Vanegas stay away from and have no contact with the victim, surrender his passport, stay in Massachusetts and be tracked by GPS. https://www.bostonherald.com/2022/06/03/revere-man-charged-with-trafficking-woman-to-undercover-cop/?g2i_eui=LlvAMyLAZmItAlKLX0rby12vwNY9aLeN&g2i_source=newsletter&lctg=E454C415948D740FF484A4358A&active=yesD
