City Solicitor
Medford, MA 02155
Dear Mr. Rumley,
I respectfully request that you speak at the City Council on July 19th regarding the meeting minutes and financial records which you demanded MCC TV3 hand over to city hall on or about July 14, 2014. Two years have elapsed as of yesterday and the extended deadline, if memory serves, was July 24, 2014.
Interesting that Mrs. Burke is implementing "mobile programming" which I have been demanding at the city council for years now.
Side
note: Pat Jehlen is debating Leland Cheung at CCTV Cambridge (where I
am a member,) in a joint effort with Somerville Community TV where I was
on the board of Boston Free Radio and now am an advisor to the board.
(I actually worked to implement the shut down of the BFR board and help
switch it to an advisory role.) Why do Medford residents pay what JJ
McLean called a "second tier tax" via our franchise fee and not have
access tv - ever ??? TV3 wasn't access, it was a boy's club with
nasty, vicious attacks on senior citizens, women and minority people.
We have every right to be paranoid about our First Amendment rights as
city hall, and especially Pat Jehlen - our Senator, have smacked our
free speech rights around like the proverbial red-headed step child.
Interesting
that we veterans of access TV are being snubbed by city hall. No one
has called me to participate in this venture, yet my start in access was
in 1979. I've forgotten more about access TV than Heidi Riccio or Roy
Belson could ever learn; same goes for Mrs. Burke. The volunteer
producers that I know wonder if it will be like the City Council where
Fred Dello Russo Jr. slams the gavel to stop people from discussing
vitally important issues like the Transition Team (which Dello Russo is
on; huge conflict of interest, he should never have censored me two
weeks in a row when he's a member of that team. What is Mr. Dello Russo
hiding?) along with "point of information" interruptions which are
hardly points, just "momentum breakers" designed to throw a speaker from
the public off. They use those non-points the WRONG way, as a
censorship tactic.
38K plus that appears to be missing from MCC TV3 is a LOT of money.
How
do we recover it? And what happened to all the equipment owned by the
city from the previous regime, including computer programs and fancy
stuff that former staffers and independent contractors might have kept
licenses and passwords to for use after the station was shut down?
We have had no accounting from Mayor McGlynn or Mayor Burke and we want answers
This
Tuesday, July 19th, is the perfect opportunity for our city solicitor
to give us an update on those scoundrels from Medford Community
Cablevision, Inc. 2 years after they failed to comply with your demand.
Thank you
Joe Viglione
NO FREE SPEECH; Muccini-Burkie Controlled Access TV
Intentionally Dragging Her Feet is CENSORSHIP. You are NOT on the air
now, are you? Pat jehlen on Access TV next Wednesday in Cambridge,
it's all about her, not you!
“Beginning in the fall, our goal is
to institute mobile programming while the studio construction is
underway. In addition, once a Station Manager is hired, we anticipate
this individual will be training members of the community on the
equipment so that it may be borrowed for
community use. We are working with the city to ensure that security
matters are fully covered and operational when the studio goes online”,
said Riccio in a statement.
“Our collaborative efforts will bring this goal to fruition and we can
expect to have regular programming on all local access, government and
school stations,” said Mayor Stephanie M. Burke.
