Michael J. McGlynn was the ultimate baby-kissing, glad-handing "appearance of warmth"
-(while hiding his true demonic intentions) - local politician. Never skilled enough to be a governor or senator, McGlynn was what he was, highly skilled at being a mayor. The ultimate con-artist, where DID those beautiful seats in Alden Chambers drift off to? So expensive...

In concert with Mark Rumley and Leo A. Sacco Jr they were the true "Unholy Trio" and Medford is the worse for it.
Like the murderous remnants of Hurricane Ida doing more damage than projected (or imagined) last week, in the wake of the Rumley, Sacco, McGlynn conspirators - those who replaced them continue the malfeasance, though without the gloss that hid the evil intentions of the sons of Jack McGlynn (sons meaning Rumley and Sacco figuratively as well as north shore lawyer Jack Jr and Mike McGlynn).
The "Ida Flooding" is what I now call the McGlynn Doctrine: shut down free speech, chill it, let it disrupt life - hurt people and their families - while having some buffoon lawyer yelling "I would find the chilling of speech in Medford REPUGNANT," with an exclamation point. While the censorship denier was, himself, the architect of the censorship.
And Rumley did it with a straighter face than Della Street yelling from the rafters: "RAYMOND BURR IS NOT GAY."
I never got that, actress Barbara Hale not understanding that the world has evolved since 1959. Burr was with his partner Benevides right until the end, and the world knew it.

But the fun fictional world of TV drama and the backgrounds behind the actors is a different reality than life in Medford with white collar gangsters ruining the lives of the voters and taxpayers, isn't it?

and what we have today is a clueless police chief in Jack Buckley, attempting to be more suave and puppeteering, but inserting foot-in-mouth in public and removing all doubt. And the "remnants of Ida" - Adam Knight, Zac Bears, Paul Ruseau, George Scarpelli, CARAVIELLO AS BUFFOON RINGLEADER INCAPABLE OF A LOGICAL THOUGHT - stupid, arrogant, ignorant and deadly to the thought of moving Medford forward.
