Breanna Appointed Vice Chair of the MBTA Advisory Board,

Breanna Lungo-Koehn for Mayor

Joseph,

I am proud to have recently been appointed as a Vice Chair of the MBTA Advisory Board, helping to move our transit

forward to better serve riders across our Commonwealth.

As mayor, I have focused on expanding and

improving transit options, investing in road maintenance,

and making sure cyclists and pedestrians

can travel safely to their destinations.

Through transit-focused leadership, we were able to:

  • Receive public and private grants to launch o
  • ur Shared Streets program,
  • which included launching outdoor dining,
  • supporting safe routes around our schools,
  • adding bike lanes and bus shelters, and more.
  • Pilot a dedicated bus lane on Mystic Ave;
  • Launch hundreds of critical road improvement projects,
  • including South St and Main St;
  • Push for a study of the feasibility, benefits,
  • and cost of extending Silver Line service
  • to Everett and the surrounding communities.

We have made some great strides,

 but we still have a lot of work to do.

We continue to advocate for our residents

 and their needs as it relates to

 orange line shutdowns and

adjustments to our better bus network

 redesign to ensure everyone in our

community has access to public transit services.

I am energized to continue to lead on

 this issue to ensure that every resident i

n Medford has access to reliable, safe,

and accessible ways to navigate our City and region.
