Do you know this clown?

He threw a cigarette butt onto Garfield Ave when he was politely asked to dispose of it properly.

I have had to hire a new landscape guy to clean up the mess.  It is disgraceful.

Said I was calling the police on them for littering, and before I got a chance to, a few minutes later, a police car and siren went whizzing down Salem towards Malden.

So I walked out towards the bus stop as if I were flagging down the police car....the SUV and the bad actor posing for the photo fled as if they had robbed a Brinks truck.

Littering and Trash Disposal Violations

G.L. c.270, s.16-16A
G.L. c.90, s.22G

Fine or Other Penalty

May be Civil or Criminal.
Criminal calls for fines of up to $5,500 for the first offense and up to $15,000 for each subsequent offense, along with potential seizure of your car.
Where the officer decides to proceed civilly, the following fines apply:
  • $20 for the first, second and third offenses in a calendar year
  • $100 for fourth or subsequent offense in a calendar year
Also, under G.L. c.90, s.22G, your driver’s license may be suspended up to seven days.

If Nestor takes off his sneakers for a nap at the DPW, would that be considered littering?

Because I live at the top of the street all sorts of stuff flies in from Salem and from the gas station. Can't always get a court order to get rid of the vermin like Dr. Rabies...

So when I asked him to dispose of it properly he throws it in the street and poses for the photo

Maybe Mrs. Burke will use the trash to fill in the potholes.  God knows she isn't doing a damn thing as mayor and is littering the corner office with her presence.
