Do you know someone who might be interested in applying to be on Medford Police force? To help introduce prospective candidates to the process, the city is holding a Medford Police Application Information Session at City Hall on Wednesday, Jan. 16, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Attendees will be able to speak with current Medford Police personnel about:

• What being a Medford Police Officer involves
• Eligibility and hiring requirements
• Application process and written exam
• Training process
• Signing up to attend an exam preparation session

Medford officers who speak Spanish, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Khmer, and Haitian-Creole will be present to assist if needed.

Note: An essential step to becoming a candidate is passing the Civil Service exam. The next exam for Municipal Police Officers, offered only every other year, is taking place on March 23, 2019, and the deadline to apply is February 5.

This flyer has more information on the Information Session. If you have further questions, please contact Neil Osborne, Director of Diversity and Inclusion, at 781-393-2501 or nosborne[AT] medford-ma. gov.
