Kerry Laidlaw, a Medford native and former athlete who is involved in city youth sports affairs, said she’s been to many Challenger Day events, but called this past Sunday’s presentation her favorite one.

“The 25th anniversary is something to be remembered,” Laidlaw said. “To watch the children today take that field with smiles, pride, determination and strength made me realize why I will never give it up. I will continue to always keep fighting for the children in our community. No matter how hard it may get at times, these faces are my strength, my determination, my drive to always be brave no matter what.
