New claims in Hopkinton school abuse cases

Depositions alleging sexual abuse by a former Hopkinton teacher paint a portrait of an educator who regularly touched sixth-grade girls and suggest school officials had been made aware of his behavior as far back as 2005.
They are the latest details to emerge from civil suits filed by two former students and their families. A judge is weighing a request, filed in spring, to dismiss one of the cases.
The families, who are seeking monetary damages, are suing the town and former science teacher William Howard, alleging that he abused the girls at Hopkinton Middle School after other students reported similar charges to administrators.
