UNDUE FAVORITISM:
THE HARD FALL OF ADAM KNIGHT
FORMER MEDFORD CITY COUNCILOR
Nepotism refers to partiality to family whereas cronyism refers to partiality to an associate or friend. Favoritism, the broadest of the terms, refers to partiality based upon being part of a favored group, rather than job performance.
- influence by which a person is induced to act otherwise than by their own free will or without adequate attention to the consequences.
- As defined here, undue favoritism based on legally prohibited criteria violates this policy when one person with a degree of authority over others favors a person or group because of some factor related to race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age or disability.
Hated by the citizenry, which dubbed him "Madame Knight," the sleazy individual in the perpetually wrinkled suit coat - like he had slept in it after a bad night at 306 Main St. Medford - was mistaken for a stiff after a speech at the city council which looked like rigor mortis had set in!
Knight can always claim that when he signed the no conflict of interest document (when there clearly was a conflict of interest,) that he was high on formaldehyde given to him by the gay undertaker.
Knight was also found having ex parte conversation with one of those stiffs at 306 Main St., or so he thought, until the stiff woke up and turned out to be a fellow city councilor!!!
- with respect to or in the interests of one side only or of an interested outside party.
